Dear Parents / Caregivers, Welcome back to term 4! What a jam packed term it will be with lots of exciting things happening as we head to the end of the year. I would like to thank Mrs Sweeney for doing a terrific job as Principal while I was on leave. I would like to remind all parents and visitors that you must come to the school office and sign in before going to the playground or to your child’s classroom during a school day. This is a legal requirement and failure to do this may result in further action to prohibit entry to the school grounds. Lots of notes are being sent home this week for various activities, so please check your child’s school bag each day. The year 6 mini fete will be on 16 December and notes for showbags will be sent home shortly. Orders will close November 15th, so DON’T MISS OUT. Keep up to date on our Facebook Page. Mrs Challenor
Class in Focus - 2D
2D is very excited about the new literacy unit Under the Sea. Students will be
working hard this term to transform the classroom into an aquatic museum.
Students will be researching and reporting on different ocean creatures
through the use of different modes and media to enhance presentation.
For maths we have been focusing on number sense. Students have been
learning to represent number in different ways, write different number
combinations and use different strategies to solve math word problems.
Great job 2D ! Keep up the good work.

Class in Focus - Spanish As of the commencement of 2019 a new and revised version of the Community Languages program has been set-up and implemented. For the initial three terms students (whole class groups) are introduced to the basic foundation blocks of language learning such as alphabetic systems and phonetics, days of the week, months, seasons, colours and the number system. As each year progresses, the back to basics topics continue to increase and build-up in regards to content, vocabulary, grammatical and language structures. The main focus of Term 4 is culture. Students learn geographical facts such as; location and features of the 21 Spanish-speaking countries. Basic facts such as population, currency, flag, food, music, national costume, customs and traditions, etc...are covered during this final term of the year. As there are a significant amount of countries with Spanish as the official language, each final term of the year will focus on 2-3 countries in the allocated 10 weeks.

3M on display at FLIGHT CENTRE
The students in 3M created posters on Pic Collage to inform audiences about
The Great Barrier Reef. Mrs Melia took the finished piece to Flight Centre at
Stocklands, Wetherill Park to ask if they would display them for the public to
read. The manager of Flight Centre loved the posters and agreed to display
them.
Mrs Melia is very proud of the work 3M produced and thank you to the staff at
Flight Centre for supporting local schools.
