Public Speaking

Last Tuesday four students

represented our school at the local

schools Public Speaking Competition.

Our students were absolutely fantastic

and we are very proud of them. Well

done to Christian, Silipa, Sophie and

Lerita. Thank you to Miss Michetti and

Mrs Noonan for their organisation.

Next P&C meeting

Wednesday 11 November 2015 at 2pm

Kindergarten Orientation

Our Kindergarten Orientation program will begin next week. We are very excited

to meet our new students for next year. If you know of any children who need to

enrol to school for next year please let them know that they can come to the

office for enrolment papers and information regarding our orientation programs.

Orientation Dates:

Thursday 29 October 9:15-10:30am

Thursday 5 November 9:15-10:30am

Thursday 12 November 9:15-10:30am

Valuables

Please remind your children to leave any valuables they have at home, such as

mobile phones and iPods. If a student requires a mobile phone for purposes

before or after school they must bring it to the office to be

securely stored.

P&C Disco

You will receive a note shortly regarding a P&C disco to be

held on the 12 November 2015. Tickets will be $5 each which includes a drink

and a packet of chips on the night. The Kindergarten to Year 2 disco will run from

4:30-5:30pm. The Year 3 to Year 6 disco will run from 6-7:30pm. We hope to see

you there.

Parking

Just a reminder that there is no parking in the staff car

park for parents unless they have spoken to myself or Miss Perrin. It is also im-

portant to remind your child to enter the school by the front or back gates rather

than the car parks to ensure their safety.

Head Lice

It is that time of the year again where those little creatures start to arrive. Head lice

can be easily treated when caught early and one of the cheapest ways to remove

them is to use hair conditioner and comb them

out day by day.

P&C Sport Theme Mufti day

This week students wore their favourite sporting

colours to support the P&C’s Sport Theme mufti

day fundraiser. Thank you to all those who

participated. It was great to see many different

sporting teams represented.

Leadership Day

Last week ten Year 5 students were chosen to participate in a community of schools

leadership day held at Prairievale. The students developed skills in leadership, team

building and problem solving strategies. The schools involved included Harrington

Street PS, Edensor Park PS, St John’s Park PS, Bonnyrigg PS and Mount Pritchard

PS. It was a huge success and I would like to thank Mrs Allum and Mrs Sipione for

their support on the day.

I would like to officially welcome Miss Capps to our school this term. Miss

Capps was appointed a permanent position in our Support Unit. We would also
