MEET A MEMBER: Charles BattCharles opened his MBE Centre in the heart of Parramatta CBD eleven years ago after a lifetime of corporate administration and marketing.

Initially, MBE Parramatta employed one staff member and provided a limited range of printing services. Since then the team has grown to 7 staff, some serious commercial printing capability, 4 brands and a wide assortment of products. MBE Parramatta has been the largest Mailboxes Etc Centre in Australia every month for over 3 years and continues to grow.

At the start of last year we created the Agility Print brand to give us fresh new look and allow us to focus on the needs of professional print consumers, like Marketing Agencies and Training Organisations.

In the past few months we have added a wide range of promotional products, uniforms and safety vests to our range. Our intention with this is to make us even more of a “one stop shop” for our customers; where you can get your printing and marketing collateral in a single location.

Parramatta Chamber of Commerce appoints a new Board and President.

The Annual General Meeting held on Wednesday 19 April 2017 has elected a new Board for the Parramatta City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. which will continue their great work in the community.

The Chamber Board consists of 15 elected board members including the President, two Vice Presidents and the Treasurer together with the Immediate past President.

The executive committee’s roles and responsibilities include planning, policy and legal and financial management of the Chamber, as well as the strategic alignment with the business community.

Parramatta Chamber of Commerce has been working with the community for over 105 years. The Chamber is a not-for-profit organisation which promotes business growth. The Chamber creates opportunities and platforms for networking for members and their guests.

These include: Four weekly referral groups (eNRGy), monthly Business after 5 events, quarterly Business before 9 events. Parramatta Chamber hosts a Charity Golf Day each year, supporting local charities as well as hold an annual BBQ for the Homeless. The Chamber is proud to host the 15th annual State of the City Address Parramatta and this year will be the 27th year as hosts of the prestigious Western Sydney Awards for Business Excellence (WSABE).

The recent success and sell out of the State of the City Address Parramatta event held last week at the PARKROYAL with keynote speaker The Hon Stuart Ayres MP was testament to the commitment from the business community to shaping Parramatta’s future.

Newly appointed President, David Hill has expressed his excitement in continuing the great work of the Chamber and working closely with the Board and the greater business community.

“We will make strong representation on behalf of the whole business community of Parramatta. These are complex and challenging times and The Chamber will do it’s best to assist existing and new businesses to grow, to export and to deal with our complex regulatory environment”. says David.

We welcome newly appointed President David Hill, Jennifer Vella and Radlee Moller as Vice Presidents and Eric Tjoeng as Treasurer, Michael Mekhitarian will continue in an executive role as Immediate Past President.

BUSINESS AFTER FIVELast month’s Business After Five event was co-hosted by Courtney’s Brasserie and Condon Associates Group. Given the unpredictable weather, our hosts provided beautifully decorated shelter with fairy lights and all. We had a full house as we welcomed new members, mingled with the business community and were kept up to date with market intel and upcoming events. Food was as generous as it was delicious and never disappoints, courtesy of the talented team at Courtney’s Brasserie. Thank you to Paul and his team for their service and hospitality and thank you to Schon from Condon Associates Group for providing their beautiful rooftop balcony that overlooks the heart of Parramatta and to Riverside Brewing Company for providing the wonderful beers.
