SO Students Who Serve For December Spotlight

Do you have a MoN student that performs volunteer service on a regular basis? If so, we want to hear your story! We will be selecting several students throughout the year to represent Mary of Nazareth as our “Students Who Serve” Spotlight in the bi-monthly publication “Our Parish Times.” Please submit the following information (along with a photo of your child) to [email protected]:

organization where volunteer service was performed, dates and hours of service, service tasks and how they made a difference, what they learned from experience)

MoN Annual Gala The Annual Gala is Mary of Nazareth’s biggest event of the year and we are looking for even planning leaders to help our co-chairs and make this year’s event a great success! Tell us how you would like to be part of this year’s event! Experience in any of these areas is welcome, but not required. Time commitment is all that is needed. Virtus training is not required. lood Drive at St. Mary’s Barnesville

St Mary’s Church in Barnesville is holding a blood drive on Dec 17th at St Mary’s Pavilion from 10:00am to 3:00pm. The drive is being sponsored by the Monocacy Lions Club and the Our Lady of Fatima Council of the Knights of Columbus, and conducted by the American Red Cross. The Red Cross has improved their operations and donors can now use “Rapid Pass”, where donors may review the reading material and complete the history questionnaire in order to expedite the process. This must be done on the day of donation. They will have a laptop available so donors may complete the questionnaire at the Pavilion as well. Decorations Needed! Are you thinking about upgrading your Holiday items? Don’t know what to do with all that excess decoration clutter? MON’s elves are seeking donations for unwanted various decorations like old Christmas trees, displays, blow-ups, etc. Those items can be used to decorate the school for our annual Breakfast with Santa! party (er. . . troop) started! We need two troop leaders and at least six girls to start a troop. Daisy troop meetings typically last about an hour, and are held twice a month. There are many opportunities for field trips and extra activities as well. Some examples include going to see the Nutcracker Ballet and an annual camping trip with Girl Scouts at all troop levels. Looking forward to seeing you at the meeting! Please let me know if your daughter is interested in becoming a Daisy. My e-mail is [email protected]. Register today for MON's K-1 Basketball Program! Registration deadline: Dec. 7th Open to all kindergarten and first grade boys and girls, MoN's K-1 basketball program is a really FUN introductory program for this age group. Practices & games take place on Friday nights from January 6 through February 24, 6-7 PM and 7-8 PM at two Germantown area elementary schools. Please register today through the Team Snap link below. The registration fee is $65. Registration deadline is December 7th! Celebrate the gift of Christ for Christmas and create a unique work of art by participating in the "Keep Christ in Christmas" poster contest. Sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, students grades 1 through 8 can compete for $150 in prizes by creating a unique poster (no larger than 12X18 inches) reminding people that Christmas is all about Jesus. The Business Manager is to monitor the budget and assist with budget preparation and prepare system reports as required.
