FORT STAMFORD ECHO JANUARY 2016 ISSUE 149 Welcome to 2016! January is a busy month for us in the fitness industry. A month in which we welcome many new faces full of determination and motivation, fuelled by their latest New Year’s resolution. Here are some simple steps to keep you true to your New Year Resolution. Take it Steady! Don’t try to kill yourself at each visit. You will not feel good the next day and you will find it even harder to motivate yourself for the next session. Listen to your instructor. They do know what they are talking about, honest! Stick to programmes and in particular, review dates. Set Realistic Goals. Talk to your instructor who will make sure your goals are attainable. Let us at Fort Stamford help you keep your resolutions and reach your 2016 goals! In the month of December, over 70 members concluded their 10 week Healthier Me Challenge. Numerous pounds were lost, inches shrunk and muscle percentage gained. New routines were adopted and nutritional advice was considered. All participants put in a tremendous amount of effort, however, there could only be three winners from each category, they were: Health & Well Being : 1 st Place- Val Leonard 2 nd Place- Linda Hamblyn 3 rd Place- Val Smith Drop a Dress Size: 1 st Place- Annette Bewley 2 nd Place- Lyn Jane 3 rd Place- Chris Hughes Bulking Vs Shredding: 1 st Place- Amelia Oke 2 nd Place- Melissa Chew 3 rd Place- Eric Marks Huge congratulations go out to the winners. We hope you enjoy your well-deserved prizes! If you missed out this time round, don’t be disheartened, keep an eye out for the next gym challenge. With Christmas been and gone, and summer around the corner, why not speak to an instructor about how you can refresh your programme.

Name: Charlotte Stephens Known as: Charsey/Char

Snap shot history: I have worked at Fort Stamford for 5

years. I am married to Rob and we have two lovely girls,

Summer and Fern. I have just celebrated my 40th birthday

and had an amazing party at Fort Stamford.

Role at Fort Stamford: I work in the bar/kitchen.

Favourite holiday destination: Lindos in Rhodes. It is

where my husband and I got married.

Favourite drink: Bottles and bottles of wine!!

Plymouth Haunt: I enjoy the Barbican.

Favourite TV show: Any murder/mystery programme.

Most hilarious/embarrassing moment: Falling asleep at

my 40th party after far too much too drink.

REMEMBER - An exercise programme can be

a fun addition to your week that doesn’t have to

cramp your schedule.

Do a variety of exercises, set realistic goals for

your routine and your fitness level and enjoy

yourself.
