Week 6 Term 3

25 August 2016

Dear Parents/Guardians

Well done to the students from Room 3 who ran last Thursday’s

assembly based on an ocean theme. Not only did they perform an

entertaining song but they shared several very interesting facts with

us.

Faction Carnival

What a wonderful day we had on Tuesday for our faction Carnival.

Students were actively involved in all events and appeared to

thoroughly enjoy the day.

Special thanks to the Schools P&C workers who ran the Sausage Sizzle,

Cake Stall and helped in the canteen. They did a great trade in all areas.

The coffee van on site was very successful with them donating a portion

of their takings back to the P&C.

The P&C paid for all the many ribbons that were given out yesterday as

well as the 8 Encouragement trophies that were awarded. Thank you

for this generous donation. I know the students enjoy walking around

with a large number of ribbons pinned to them.

I would also like to acknowledge and thank both the teaching and non-

teaching staff from the Primary and Ed. Support Schools who assisted

on the day to make it such a successful event.

Also a special thank you to the coordinator, Mrs Jackson, who spent

many hours preparing for the event. Carnivals don’t just happen, there

is a lot of work done beforehand.

The Interschool Team will now be picked and it is scheduled to be

held here at Riverside on Wednesday the 7th September.

Students in Year 3 and 5 who sat the NAPLAN tests earlier this

year in May will be receiving their reports today. There is a

pamphlet included outlining how to read your child’s report. If

you require further information please see your child’s teacher. I

will be giving an overview in a future newsletter on how we went
