We have had a very busy and productive term. This year we welcomed 41 Prep
students who have had a fantastic start to their school life. Our students have
successfully competed in a number of sporting events including cricket, tennis and
swimming. Students have been on camp to Lake Cullulleraine and Roses Gap. We
have raised money for the Leukaemia Foundation by holding a Crazy Hair Day and
BBQ lunch. Our school fundraisers have included “A Night Amongst the Vines”, Hot
Cross Bun Drive and Easter Raffle. We also opened our classrooms for inspection to
showcase the learning that has been happening. Next term will be just as busy and successful and I look
forward to Term 2. Thanks to all the students, parents and teachers for a fantastic first term.

All Hot Cross Buns have been sent home. Thanks to Ali Scott for organising these. We raised $437 through the
sale of the buns.
Our Easter Raffle was drawn this morning. We raised $2474! Thanks to Janet Droffelaar and Courtney Wills for
their organising. Congratulations to the winners of the raffle in each class and to the students who sold the
most tickets in each class...

Last week the Preps made Easter Baskets with their grade 6 buddies. Together the students cut,
stapled and glued to create a great rabbit basket. We hope that Easter Bunny finds these
baskets and fills them with some treats!

What an outstanding outcome we had with the Collaborative Artworks at ‘The
Night Amongst the Vines’ on Friday night. The twelve pieces of student artwork
sold for over $3000! The students should be very pleased that their artistic talents
raised such a lot of money. Many parents complimented the students on their
work and were curious about how the artworks were created. I will be putting a
“How to…” sheet on the Art Blog that explains how to create your own
masterpiece at home. A photo of each classes Artwork is already on the Art Blog
so take a look if you couldn’t make it on Friday night. http://

Today the Grade 1 students participated in the Soccer Road Show organised by
MRCC. The children had a go at kicking, dribbling and passing the ball. Thanks to

We had a very busy day in the ‘environment’ yesterday! In the morning Melanie Bell
and a team of parents weeded and cleaned up the vegie gardens and planted some
new seedlings. Thank you very much to the parents who did a great job in the vegie
gardens. Between recess and lunch the
Environmental Leaders
planted trees in Irymple
and after lunch the
whole school cleaned
up the school grounds
and fence lines. What a
great effort by all those
involved.
