Barco SEER™ mini-dome

The SEER mini-dome system isBarco's solution for the ultimate inimmersive simulation training. It is acompact and flexible visualizationsolution that consists of a custom240°/270° spherical dome structure,multi-channel projection system, sophisticated alignment and controltools, and dedicated peripheraldevices.

The Barco SEER mini-dome systemprovides constant eye relief over theentire spherical surface and optimizesout-of-window scenes. The sphericalshape maintains a constant distancebetween the user’s eye and theprojected simulation, preventing theuser’s eyes from having to adjust togeometric changes in the surface area.

Barco’s SEER mini-dome is currently used by theU.S. Air Force and other simulation facilities formilitary flight training applications.

Distributed Mission OperationBarco’s DMO solution links combat

and support simulators with other

command and control systems to

provide a continuous, up-to-date

picture of the battlefield. It allows

airborne, ground, maritime, and

unmanned assets to train as a team

from remote locations while

interacting in real time.

Barco’s DMO solution can be

configured with a wide range of

Barco display system technology,

such as the SEER™ mini-dome,

HALO™ rear-projected system,

ICOMMAND™ large-screen display

solution, and DIGITAL SCRIBE™ image

record/playback system, to meet

your mission training center needs.

The Barco DMO solution is also

scalable to accommodate specific

space requirements and budget.

Whether you need a single system at

a single facility, or several systems at

multiple facilities, Barco has your

DMO solution.

The SEER also creates a seamlessprojection surface and offers greatercontinuous visual range. Pixel size isuniform from front to top channels.Users experience full-immersive trainingat a level not previously possible. Theprojection technology is optimized formatching color, brightness, gray scale, and other visual parameters.

The Barco SEER mini-dome has a small footprintand low height profile to maximize training space. It can operate as a discrete system or networkedwith other mini-domes for grouped fightingapplications to increase training effectiveness.

Digital Scribe for briefing/debriefing

Barco’s DIGITAL SCRIBE is a digital image recording systemthat can be used for briefing and debriefing applications.

Through a unique set of compression techniques for effectiverecording of RGB outputs, stored images of a mission can beplayed back for later review and analysis. The DIGITAL SCRIBE workstation contains a PCI form factorgraphics recorder board that converts RGB data combinedwith radar and video into a compressed digital stream ofdata. The compression algorithm, developed by Barco, isdownward compatible with the MPEG2 standard.

Barco iCommand™

Barco’s ICOMMAND is a large-screen, multi-source and multi-sensor display solution. In Barco’s DMO solution, itprovides a "god’s eye" view of the entire military trainingoperation.

ICOMMAND features the latest image and data acquisition andprocessing technologies to increase information superiority in

The DIGITAL SCRIBE is available in astand-alone 19" rack-mount chassis oras a single-slot PCI board to beintegrated into an existing system.

Command & Control Centers. This solution provides theDefense community with a network-centric visualizationplatform that integrates information from various differentsensors and sources. ICOMMAND is used in operational, tactical, and strategic Command & Control Centers.

Central to Barco’s DMO solution is itspowerful multi-system control andautomated alignment tools.

The Barco xRACU™ allows you tooperate, calibrate, configure, anddiagnose multiple display systemsusing any mix of Barco projectors (CRT,LCD or DLP™) from a single hand-heldcontroller. The Barco xRACU gives youthe power to effectively controlmultiple simulation centers.

The Barco AUTOALIGN™ is an automatedalignment tool that enables you toquickly and easily setup and maintain amultiple projector system with minimaluser intervention.

Network-Centric Operations

Barco simulation display systems arelinked through high-speedcommunication equipment, providing real-time battleenvironments for warfighters.

Network technology allows more andricher visual content to be centralizedwith higher quality levels from anyremote location. Sharing andexchanging visual content betweenmission training centers, an ever-increasing demand, is now possible.Barco’s simulation display systems havedirect network connectivity and deliveroptimal end-to-end digital access to allnetworked visual information.

HALO™ rear-projected,continuous view displaysystem

Barco’s new HALO system is a simpleand cost-effective immersive displaythat's designed to improve militarytraining performance.

This solution is powered by a Barcoprojection system that projects trainingcontent onto a unique cylindrical, rear-projection screen, creating acontinuous field-of-view. The multi-channel, edge-blended display systemeliminates distracting shadowsproduced in front-projected displaysystems, as well as view-interruptingbezels typically found in LCD panelsystems. Barco projection technology isoptimized for matching color, brightness, grayscale, and other visualparameters to maximize the simulationexperience.

HALO is a result of Barco’s collaboration with themilitary to improve training performance andincrease the military’s effectiveness.

In addition to DMO, Barco SEER mini-dome and HALO systems are suitedfor a wide range of applications suchas:• Threat station• Player station• Air-to-air/air-to-ground combat• Fast jet, vehicle, or boat• Pilot-in-the-loop• e-Dome replacement• Forward observer• Single driver• Helmet-mount display replacement• Research
