Shortly, teachers will begin considering the placement of students in classes for 2020. This is a rigorous and thorough process as our aim is to create a balanced learning environment within all classrooms. Firstly, classes for 2020 will be structured taking into account the projected number of students in each year level, the number of teachers employed at the school and the availability of resources and facilities. We also aim to have a class structure which will allow for any possible changes in enrolment numbers during the year, minimising the need to restructure during the school year. Then, teachers and Admin will consider the placement of individual students into the agreed class structure. Placements are based on our teachers’ professional judgements about students' educational needs and include the following considerations:

Balance of academic performance

Behaviour and social development

Work habits

Students with special needs and students at educational risk

Previous class placements Parent input regarding their child’s educational needs will be considered, however, requests in relation to choice of teacher will not be considered as a placement factor. Parents have the opportunity to share any concerns that they may have regarding the educational needs of their child/children by forwarding this in writing to Natalie Astle before Friday 8th November for consideration. Please also advise if your child will not be attending Greenmount Primary School next year. Final class lists will be published on Friday 31st January 2020, prior to the commencement of the new school year.

Before school supervision

Just a friendly reminder that supervision for students in the morning starts at 8.15am. Please ensure that your children are not arriving before this time for their safety. Children are to congregate in the undercover area—not outside classrooms or in the play areas.

Our PEAC results for our Year fours have come in, none of our students got through the highly competitive pool, though we had some impressive results. To be competitive the students needed

to be above the 97th percentile of all students tested.

Congratulation to Seth

Huge Congratulations to one of our Year 4 students Seth Eade who was awarded a gold star for bravery by Royal Life saving WA. This courageous young man received this award for holding his brother up in the water at Lake Leschenaultia when he saw that he was struggling in the waves. We are so proud of you Seth!
