1 Newsletter Grade 5 As a part of the inquiry under the theme— Where we are in place and time, the stu- dents of Grade 5 went on a field trip to Anandgram (MG Road) on Wednesday this week. They enjoyed visiting the Textile Museum, The Museum of Everyday Art and the Terracotta Museum. They also had a short tryst with the art of pottery making. Week of 5th November, 2012

Newsletter Grade 5

As a part of the inquiry under the theme—

Where we are in place and time, the stu-

dents of Grade 5 went on a field trip to

In Inquiry students:

Knowledge, skills and concepts acquired

in the specialist classes:

INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY

Students were introduced to Prezi as an online tool for creating web based presentations on

a virtual canvas. A discussion was first held to understand the basic features and functions of

Prezi and then on the specific functions that distinguishes it from PowerPoint presentations.

Few audio visuals were also played in class to support student’s understanding of the tool. They

further created their own accounts on www.Prezi.com and started exploring the basics of the

application.

UOI: Students need to invent and create a machine using at least 2 simple machines. They have

been given the task sheet with the details.

Primary school celebrated Children’s

Day and Diwali amidst much zeal and

enthusiasm. Teachers had put up a spec-

tacular show that amused and enter-

tained the young viewers. They also

watched a slide show on the various

“Festivals of Lights” across the world

and made Bandhanwars to decorate

the school.
