HEXPOL:s acquisition of HorstMüller Kunststoffe hasbeen completed
Dear Reader,
2011 was the best year for the HEXPOL
Group - so far. We had strong growth,
improved margins and in addition we han-
dled our working capital well.
In this issue of the HEXPOL Newsletter
you can read about Urban’s - our CFO -comments around our result at a
investors/analysts meeting in Stockholm.
You can also read about our latest acquisi-
tion, Horst Müller Kunststoffe in
Lichtenfels Germany. It is a very nice, well
managed and well invested company with
very competent people and gives us a
strong european position for TPE
Compounding. I am very happy to welcome
all Muller Kunststoffe people to the
HEXPOL family.
Pleasant reading!
Best regards,
Georg Brunstam, President and CEO
Horst Müller Kunststoffe is a
leading Central European developer
and manufacturer of thermoplastic
elastomer compounds (TPE
Compounding) with two production
units in Lichtenfels, Germany. The
estimated annual turnover is approx-
imately 46 MEUR and the company
has around 90 employees. Müller
Kunststoffe has a strong and experi-
enced team, led by the Managing
Director Mr. Georg Ender.
”The acquisition constitutes yet
another step in our ambition to
broaden our product range within
our Compounding business area”
says HEXPOL’s CEO Georg
Brunstam. “The market for
TPE compounding is undergo-
ing great growth with inter-
esting and increasing customer applica-
tions within the field of medical, con-
sumer, general industry and automotive.
Müller Kunststoffe perfectly comple-
ments our European TPE compounding
operations where we already have units
in the UK and Sweden. We are also right
now building a manufacturing plant in
southern China for TPE compounding.
Müller Kunststoffe is a well-established
and well-managed company with strong
management and a strong brand.”
Müller Kunststoffe was consolidated as
of January 2012 and is now a part of the
business area HEXPOL Compounding.
We wish to welcome all the people from
Müller Kunststoffe to the HEXPOL
Group and the HEXPOL family!

Welcome to HEXPOL Group - What is
your first reaction?
I'm very pleased that the HEXPOL Group
has expressed its interest in Müller
Kunststoffe and has finally taken over
this company. We are convinced that this
was the best solution for HMK and this
gives us confidence that the company can
continue to grow and invest in capacity
expansion.
HEXPOL is a decentralized company
and will of course keep the Müller
Kunststoffe name and all the brands.
Where do you see the synergies to the
HEXPOL Group?
With HEXPOL we do have a strong
partner who is operating globally.
Certainly purchasing synergies can be
formed between ELASTO and HMK.
Furthermore, synergies in the develop-
ment of new TPE applications can be built
up. Specialties of each TPE manufacturer
can now be used widespread by everybody.
Where do you see the biggest
possibilities for the future?
Many of our customers have several pro-
duction facilities worldwide. The expan-
sion of TPE production to China and after-
wards to US will give us the possibilities
to advance the customer service on-site.
Long transport distances can also be elim-
inated.
What are your main objectives for
Müller Kunststoffe in 2012?
Our benefits are short delivery times,
good service and fast performance in
development for our customers. We aim on
further improvement of these advantages
in 2012. We intend to put some new prod-
uct groups on the market, which will
entail improved profitability of HKM.

CEO visits Mexican plant In the beginning of January HEXPOL´sPresident and CEO, Georg Brunstam, vis-
ited HEXPOL Compounding Queretaro –
a Mexican company, relatively new in
HEXPOL Group. The company was
acquired in November 2010 as a part of
the former Excel Polymers Group.
Future plans and operational issues were
discussed. “It was a very positive visit and
I met with Francisco and all of his team.
We all concluded in a strong believe in
continued profitable growth for HEXPOL
in Mexico”, says Georg Brunstam,
President and CEO.

The award for “Company of the year 2011”
was presented at the Top Management
Conference in November. The award was
shared between HEXPOL Compounding
North Carolina in Statesville, US, and
HEXPOL Compounding Unicov, Czech
Republic. Both companies have delivered
exceptionally good results under the year.
The awards were handed over to Milos
Pitela, HEXPOL Compounding Czech
Republic, and Shannon Smith, HEXPOL
Compounding North Carolina by Georg
Brunstam.
The award for “Most outstanding achieve-
ments 2011” was handed to Glenn
Thurman and his team in HEXPOL
Compounding – Colonial Rubber Works in
Dyersburg, US, and Roger Jonsson/Robert
Knutsson and their team in Elastomeric
Gaskets, Sri Lanka. Both companies
showed great improvements during the
year. Congratulations to all of you!
HEXPOL published on Tuesday the 7:th
of February the Year-end report.
We knew it was a good report, but still
somewhat anxious about the questions
around sales, markets, profit, margins, cash
flow and endless number of key figures, me
and Georg Brunstam entered the classical
buildings around “Blasieholmstorg” in
Stockholm in order to present the report to
investors and analysts.
The presentations started, we had around
20 analysts, investors and financial journal-
ists around the table. Here are some high-
lights with personal comments from me.
The sales development for 2011 amounted
to 7,197 MSEK (3,798) a growth with 89
percent. We usually present the growth
adjusted for currency effects and acquisi-
tions and adjusted for that the growth
was 26 percent. We had a really good sales
year basically in all units and at all mar-
kets, with Mexico and China delivering
the strongest organic growth.
Profit-wise we also managed to deliver a
strong EBIT, 895 MSEK (460), an increase
with 95 percent. Since we came into 2011
with the Excel Polymers acquisition, the
achievement of increasing and keeping
the operating margin including Excel had
been very well received. We also managed
to improve our profit in the European,
Chinese and the other units in US.
A strong and solid situation!
The largest appreciation we received from
the meeting was the strong cash flow for
2011, amounting to 911 MSEK (506).
After the Q2 report our working capital
was taking us in the wrong direction but
thanks to good actions in most units we
managed to turn the trend and reduce our
inventory and increase inventory turns in
the second half of 2011, well done.
Finally, it was a pretty easy job to present
the great achievements that has been
made in almost all of our units in 2011; I
would like to pass the greetings to all of
you who do a tremendous job in our daily
business to create an even better future
for HEXPOL. We stand financially strong
with a healthy balance sheet to continue
the development and growth of HEXPOL
Group in 2012.
