The Tuakau College Science Department would like to thank
Merv Thomson and Paul Stoneman from Altus Enterprises
in Greenlane, for their generous
donation of work benches for the
Horticulture area. These work
benches will be used to extend the
misting unit within the plastic
house and will increase the area
we currently have to accommo-
date the growing number of students taking Horticulture within
the school.

Caregivers of year 8
students:
Please be aware that the
nurses will conduct an in-depth health assessment on
your child in year 9. If you do
not want the nurse to com-
plete an assessment could you
please opt out by contacting
the health centre on exten-
sion 155.

Page 3 Newsletter 8/2015
Could you please keep your
child at home if they are un-
well, too many students are
coming to the health centre
unwell at the start of the day
potentially infecting other
students and staff. Please
keep us updated with your
latest contact details, it is
unfair of students to have to
wait in the Health Centre in
some discomfort for long
periods of time because we
do not have any updated con-
tact details. Continued next column...
