Dear Parents,

We have begun our Transition program for next year’s

Preps. The kinder kids are coming in and working in the

classrooms, having a great time and brimming with con-

fidence. I am really pleased with the welcome they get

from our current students, in particular, their buddies.

This program ensures a smooth transition into school in

2011. Thanks to Ms Briggs and Miss Parsons for organ-

ising it.

We currently have 36 children enrolled for Prep for next

year. If you are planning to leave Epsom or know some-

one who hasn’t yet enrolled please contact Deanne in the

school office as it is vital that we have accurate numbers

for planning.

It is great to see the fine weather and the students having

the opportunity to be outside and playing in the dry

school yard. It is terrific to see them using their time well

in the yard and keeping active.

The fine weather is also an opportunity to tidy up around

the school ground. With this in mind we will be having a

working bee on Sunday 21st November at 9.00am to

spruce up the outside of the school. There are quite a few

jobs to be done so I would appreciate it if you could put

this date on your calendar. Many hands make light

work!

Thank you

Kerry McGuffie

GARDENING KEYS

Keys will be sent home to the Rees and Rose

families this week.

Next week’s gardening families are the Russell

and Sacharuk families.

Thank you for looking after our grounds.

At School Council on Monday evening the Visitors

Policy was ratified and is ready for implementation.

Over the next few weeks there will be more infor-

mation in the newsletter regarding this policy. In

the very near future if community members are

assisting in the school they will be required to sign

in and wear a visitors tag. This will not apply to

parents attending assembly and leaving immedi-

ately after.

All volunteers will also need to adhere to the Work-

ing With Children Act. Fact sheets about WWC are

available at the office.

Thank you
