There is a lot more to this tiny black-and-white square than meets the eye. i-marker is a matrix barcode that can be readily decoded. It makes use of augmented reality (AR) for the calculation in real time of the position and angle of the image scanned by your smartphone camera, and then augments it with appropriate imaging technology. After installing the i-marker App on the smartphone and connecting it to a wireless network, the user will be able to access the stored multimedia information such as sounds, images, video clips, games as well as interactive surveys and other entertainment activities. To ensure the downloading experience for users accessing multimedia information embedded in i-marker is smooth and goes without a hitch, DDML needs a robust high-capacity communications network for fast and stable data transmission.

Based on DDMLs requirements and the estimated usage demand for i-marker, Wharf T&T provides a Dedicated Internet Access service for DDML with a capacity of up to 10Gbps, which is able to support approximately 10,000 users accessing i-markers server simultaneously, enabling them to download and view multimedia content within seconds. Merchants can also make use of this dedicated line to upload content to i-marker through the secure content management system.

Lets Walk for Nature AgainW WF-Hong Kongs annual fundraising and outreach event Walk for Nature 2011 took place at Mai Po Nature Reserve on 30 October and 6 November 2011. The entire route is about 5km long and takes approximately 3 hours to complete. Once again, Wharf T&T showed our support and participated in this meaningful activity. On 6 November 2011, Wharf T&T staff and their family members took this wonderful opportunity to connect with nature and appreciate the values of conservation while looking for solutions so that humans can live in harmony with nature. The funds raised contribute to WWF's vital conservation and education programmes in Hong Kong and Southern China.
