KURUNJANG PRIMARY SCHOOL ~ “Learning Together” NEWSLETTER 20 - 2020 Thursday 23 rd July, 2020 PRINCIPAL’S REPORT Hello everyone and welcome to Term 3. The photo above is little Cora Ann-Marie Marks, daughter of Brendan Marks (Year 3/4 teacher) who was born at the end of the holidays. A lovely event in these otherwise uncertain times. Reading back over the last newsletter on 25 th June, I reflected on the term that had been, including the weeks of remote learning and the staged return to on-site learning and the necessary adjustments of staggered arrivals and dismissal times. Although the future remained uncertain, we hoped that the children would again return to school following the holidays; but unfortunately this was not to be and we have commenced Term 3 with additional uncertainty in terms of the duration of our return to remote learning and the increasing numbers of confirmed cases of COVID-19 across Victoria but particularly in metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire. PRINCIPAL’S REPORT Please find included today the COVID-19 Operations policy which is an update of the policy forwarded last term detailing then, the arrangements for the staged return of students to school, but now details the current direction for the return to learning from home within the current Stage 3 restrictions. Please take the time to read through and call me if there is anything you would like to discuss or need clarified. As my letter last week conveyed, we have had a greater warning for some of the changes imposed but others have occurred more suddenly in response to Government and Departmental announcements. As a result the policy details are correct to date, however we continue to be alert as I know you are too, to further announcements and the possibility of further change if necessary which we will update on COMPASS as soon as they occur. Take care all, and stay safe, ~ Learning Together FORWARD PLANNING Monday 20 th July ~ Wednesday 19 th August Learning from Home ~ At Least Friday 18 th September LAST DAY TERM 3 Monday 5 th October FIRST DAY TERM 4

CELEBRATION OF LEARNING

FOUNDATION AMY

Students in Foundation Amy have settled in really well to Remote Learning. Students have shown great effort by logging in every morning and responding to the morning message. It has been great to see their enthusiasm in responding to their assigned tasks. I look forward to seeing more of their hard work over the coming weeks.
