Pre-primary students looked 100-years-old in week one of this term as they celebrated ldquo100 days of schoolrdquo Students took part in a number of maths related activities throughout the day in honour of the number lsquo100rsquo

New addition to our Undercover Area

A huge THANKS to the EVPPS PampC for funding the brand new FAN in our undercover area This should see an end to those very uncomfortable hot and sticky summer assemblies and create much needed air-flow in our undercover area Thanks also goes to our very special family who made an extra donation towards the fan ndash THANKS

Well done to all the students that participated in the Faction Cross country last Friday There were many fantastic performances on the day with CURTIN being crowned the Champion Cross Country Faction for 2019 Good luck to the Interschool team that competes at Harold Rossiter Reserve on the 15 August

Massed Choir Festival The Vocal Ensemble will be performing in the Massed Choir Festival at 7pm on Tuesday 24th September at the Perth Concert Hall Ticket go on sale on 19th August through Perth Concert Hall website or Ticketmaster

POSITIVE BEHAVIOUR SUPPORT (PBS)

PBS Values Token Winners

This year our school has implemented a new behaviour policy based on Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)

PBS aims to promote a positive learning environment for our students to succeed academically behaviourally and socially

This term we have introduced a whole school lsquoReward Systemrsquo This lsquoReward Systemrsquo requires students to collect Values tokens which are earnt by displaying exemplary behaviours The Values tokens are then placed in a raffle barrel and drawn out each assembly The winning students will then spin the prize wheel A huge thank you to all the parents and community members who gave donations for prizes Donations can be made at the front office

Our Core Values are CARE ORGANISE RESPECT ENGAGE

Last year the Indigenous Literacy Foundation raised over $270000 from the Great Book Swap In 2019 their goal is to raise $350000 to gift 35000 new books to remote communities who want and need them To celebrate the UNESCO International Year of Indigenous Languages we have been assigned to an Animals in Language House and are looking forward to learning more about some of the communities the Indigenous Literacy Foundation work with After all how can you learn to read without books Help us help them by making a donation to our Great Book Swap page and sharing it with your friends family and colleagues

LOST PROPERTY

We have a quite a number of reading glasses and sunglasses in the lost property located in the office Please check with us if you have misplaced your glasses

SCHOOL UNIFORM SHOP Open on a Wednesday morning from 830am ndash 915am

Order forms are also available at the front office Uniforms will be delivered to the classroom Nicole Holt ndash President PampC

If you like to run jump throw and have fun with your friends come and check out your local Little Athletics Club Vic Park Phoenix which trains right here at East Victoria Park Primary School

Girls and boys from 5-17 years can learn the skills to participate in sprints and middle distance events hurdles high jump long jump and triple jump shot put discus javelin race walks turbo javelin and vortex using age appropriate equipment and rules Our athletes compete each Saturday with athletes from 6 other clubs at Gerry Archer Athletics Stadium in Belmont Membership lasts all year with the chance to participate in Cross Country and Race Walks in winter too

Training starts Tuesday September 17 from 430-600pm on the EVPPS oval Come and meet the coaches committee members and other families and find out what Little Athletics is all about Additional Thursday training TBC

Girls and boys from 5-17 years can learn the skills to participate in sprints and middle distance events hurdles high jump long jump and triple jump shot put discus javelin race walks turbo javelin and vortex using age appropriate equipment and rules Our athletes compete each Saturday with athletes from 6 other clubs at Gerry Archer Athletics Stadium in Belmont Membership lasts all year with the chance to participate in Cross Country and Race Walks in winter too

Training starts Tuesday September 17 from 430-600pm on the EVPPS oval Come and meet the coaches committee members and other families and find out what Little Athletics is all about Additional Thursday training TBC
