Greetings to dear readers of news@mpark!First of all, on behalf of the editorial committee, I would like to wish all Muslim "Selamat Berpuasa" and wishing you well during this holy month of Ramadhan.In this 2nd edition of 2009, we will highlight to you some fo the events and happeningswithin Metro Parking Group between April and August 2009.Among the important event was the Excellence Service Quality Award that has beenawarded to Metro Parking (M) Sdn Bhd during the 8th Asia Pacific InternationalEntrepreneur Award 2009 which was held recently. Another accolade received by MetroParking was the the Malaysia Independence Award 1957 in" Star Company Category" bySelangor Petaling Business & Industry Association. These accolades certainly boost ourspirit to perform better in future.We have also embarked on another cashless payment systems via introduction ofMEPSCash at Bank Negara malaysia car park. This is another milestone in our quest toprovide better services to our customer. You can read further in this edition.On our contribution to the public, recently Metro Parking Kuala Lumpur has succesfullyorganize a blood donation campaign which was organized by the Safety & Health com-mittee and HR Department. We received and overwhelming response from staff and alsopublic around Damansara Town Centre. Congratulations to those who have donated theirblood during the campaign and congratulations also to the organizer of event. Metro Parking Services (India) Pvt Ltd had started the operation in R City Mall, Ghatkopar (W), Mumbai, on 27thMarch 2009. Once the second phase of the construction completed by end of this year, R City Mall is going to be thelargest mall in Mumbai (1.3 million sq ft). The car park whichwe managed here is the “multilevel” type which consist of 8levels plus one “open to sky” floor.Total number of bays for the two phases is 2000 bays, (800 forthe first phase and 1200 for the second phase).The car park is equipped with the Skidata equipments, withthree entries and three exits configuration.Since the professional car park management is a new conceptin India, it became a big challenge to MPSIPL.

Metro Parking (M) Sdn Bhd has successfully approachKFC Holdings Bhd to involve in joint advertising promotion mainly in ticket advertising promotion. Aftera few months in discussion with KFC, Metro Parking(M) Sdn Bhd has managed to tie up on ticket advertising which worth more than RM200,000.00 for 6months commencing on the 1st November 2009.

Besides creating a new business dimension in parkingmanagement, space advertisement also offers ourpotential clients to advertise their products and services in one of the most effective medium of advertising which is the car park.

Bank Negara Malaysia wasthe first car park to implement this system.In order to inform the public on the MEPSCash system, IPS Sdn Bhd the providerof the MEPSCash system has recently organized a media luncheon on 20th August2009 at Suria KLCC. Metro Parking was represented by Sr Corporate Executive, En Izani Izuddin and Operations Manager, En Shaharudin Mohd Nor.

It is hoped that we could further extend MEPScash at other car parksunder our arm in near future.

The talk was held on 18/08/2009 in the Training Room, Admin Building, KOMTAR and wasattended by admin and operation staff. The talk was given by officers from NIOSH andBOMBA.

On May 9, 2009, we havemade the visit & see Mohd Adam's family at their rental house.Respondent JIMB at this time is a child aged 19 months who were bornimperfect as another human being. Hedid not have foot & rectum. Objective ofthis assistance is to relieve the burdenof care boarding & cost of living of family.Mohd Adam require surgery shoppingfor boarding, care & maintenance ofhim. His shopping budget is RM600 amonth. For all surgical boarding, noamount is stated until now.

TRIP TO AQUARIA, KLCC On 20 & 27 June , 2009, SouthernRegion Sports Club held a trip toAquaria, KLCC and its surrounding. Theactivities started at 5 a.m. where thegroup gathered at the KOMTAR buildingbefore traveled to Kuala Lumpur. Thegroup went back to JB around 11 p.m.

The Blood Donation Campaign was successful held onWednesday, 12th August,2009 at the Open Hall, PusatBandar Damansara, Kuala Lumpur. The Safety andHealth Committee of Metro Parking KL cooperatedwith the Malaysia Blood Center had organised theevent. The campaign opened to all Metro Parking'sstaff and outsiders. About 150 people have registeredto donate blood to relieve the needs of Kuala LumpurBlood Bank.

In addition, KPJ Damansara has opened a counter formedical checkup such as cholesterol stage, bloodpressure, BMI and also sugar in blood. For only RM15,anybody can get this checkup. The counter receivedencouraging number of interested people especiallythose who wanted to know the information on theirhealth status.

We in OSH Committee of Metro Parking, Kuala Lumpurare overwhelmed with gratitude by all the support wereceived in making the event a success one, especially the blood donors. Our appreciation alsogoes to En Mohd Fadzil Hadi, Puan Hamidah, Cik Nora

and Puan Akma for their contribution in terms ofpreparation and monitoring of this campaignfrom early of the morning until the end of thecampaign.
