Presentation Competition was successfully con-

ducted by Mechanical department Faculties at

DYPCOE, Akurdi on 28th February 2017. Prof A.

D .Khare from PCCOE, Ravet was the jury member

for the evaluation of student’s projects. The news

got published in IEI Pune local centre website.

ship 2016-17’ trophy, consecutively 3rd time for

Akurdi campus.

On 25th March 2017 , BE Farewell was organ-

ized by TE students to bid Good Bye and Best

Luck for the future. The entertainment program

was followed by Dance and Dinner. The stu-

dents showed sentiments by ending the pro-

gram on a note of keeping in touch with facul-

ties in future.

SAE International Competition at

California, USA…..“Team Predators" Of

Mechanical Engineering Department stood at

35th position in overall ranking and 25th Position

in Endurance race held during 25th – 29th April

of SAE International Competition at California,

Team Predators in California, USA.

USA. Dr. D. R. Panchagade had accompanied

the team to California. The team faced lots of

challenges, on and off the competition. On Day

One 103 teams were present, but after facing

various rigorous test conditions like Engine

Check, Technical Inspection, Suspension &

Traction and many more for four days, on last

day only 87 teams were shortlisted. From India,

four teams had participated but Team Predators

was the only team to reach in the finals.

organised a technical festival “Tantrotsav 2k17”

comprising of exhilarating technical gigs and com-

petitions. Total prize money of Rs. 1, 81,000/- were

awarded to all the winners of various technical

events.

Events Information is as follows:

1) Burning Cars- This competition was about build-

ing up wireless remote controlled machines, pow-

ered by “Internal Combustion Engine” (4 cc)

which could able to tackle sharp turns as well as

ascending and descending slopes. The team of 2 to

5 students has to pass through two rounds and Mr.

Prasad Agawane team was the winner, to grab the

prize of worth Rs 25000/-

CATIA war

2)CATIA-On 7th Feb CATIA DESIGN COMPETI-

TION was held, where students can showcase

their skills, knowledge, speed, adaptability and

talent. Semester or branch was not a bar. The

three rounds were to check design, drafting and

assembly skills on CATIA. The first prize of Rs

2500 was won by Mr. Mohit Maru.

3) Rubix cube: On 7th Feb the Rubix Cube compe-

tition was held. Aim of the competition was to

nurture the skills and to tackle the situation with

accordance of the time by the students.

TARAMANDAL- MOBILE PLANETORIUM

event held on 5th and 6th February2017, by ILLU-

MINATI club

We have collaborated with IUCCA- a prominent

organization in the astronomy and space science

field for the technical and other functional sup-

ports. Our volunteers acquired the planetarium

and the training required for the presentation

from IUCCA’S authorities. The event was held for

two days i.e. on 5th and 6th February, 2017. We

had around 500+ visitors and the feedback given

by them is proved to be appreciating one for the

club members. We had 25 volunteers for the

event and to amuse the visitors we have also

made arrangement for documentaries related to

space sciences

appreciation certificate as Best Co-coordinator of

MESA (Mechanical Engineers Students Associa-

tion) is a team of enthusiastic and creative students

with out of the box thinking. Under the guidance of

our dedicated faculty members Mr. S. V. Thakur,

Mr. Sunil S. Patil, Mr. Rohit Patil, Ms. Nirmala

Bhingare, Mr. Deepak Patil, Mr. Rachit Roshan

and Mr. Sachin Marjapure the team had given

memorable events like State level robotics work-

shop, AUTOEXPO 2017, Bikers Solution, Technical

Events in Tantrotsav 2017, Techmech 2017, Fare-

well to BE students and Departmental first maga-

zine by students during this semester. The contri-

bution of students and faculties is appreciable and

we are eagerly waiting to have mind blowing events

Faculties of DYPCOE Explored themselves in

DIPEX 2017 which held at H A ground Pim-

pri, Pune, on 17th to 20th March 2017.

Prof. Shyamsing Thakur attended the

SAMARTH BHARAT Program in Nigdi with

SE students, which did very well in the social

activity on 19th March 2017.

On 3rd Feb 2017, Prof. Rachit Roshan con-

ducted a lecture on TED Talks.

Dr. P. T. Nitnaware while giving demonstration of

Steam Power Plant Lab to students which is being

installed by a new boiler of 600kg./hr capacity at

15bar, 15o◦ C temp. and 2 KWatt power output.

Mr. Manoj Joshi has presented research poster

in International conference on “Advances in Bio-

logical System and Material Science in Nano

world” held at IIT-BHU, Varanasi on 22nd Feb

2017.

Course on CATIA of 50 hrs was arranged on

Surfacing and Drafting module by Mr. Kedar

from IFSA Training Institute for 44 students

from SE, TE, BE.

Course on Soft skill and Aptitude was arranged

for 60 hrs. by Apart for 210 TE students.

NDA team of students visited the campus and

it was successfully conducted by the SUPRA

and BAJA coordinators and the students on

29th March 2017. NDA committee members

visited the labs of mech. engg. dept. on 17th

April 2017.

Prof. Nilesh Birajdar was a member of organizing

commeettee. Near about 300 projects were on dis-

play under 13 divisions like Innovation center,

product development, mechanical, civil etc.

A Marathi poem book by Prof. Samadhan Bhosale

has got published name ‘Bhavanankoor’ on 16th

April 2017. The poems in the book reflects the po-

ets sensitivity towards the situations, people and

the love for his motherland.

the customers & lessons learned’ and 52 stu-

dents had attended the lecture.

Yadav, Manager from ALFA LAVL, Pune was a

speaker on topic “LEAN Manufacturing” and

75 students got benefited.

Prof Vaibhav Phule have attended conference

"MATLAB EXPO 2017"on 25th April 2017. It was

organized by Math Works India. Venue of confer-

ence was JW Marriott Hotel, Pune. Following im-

portant and useful sessions were covered in the

conference.

Inauguration of “The Institution of Engineers”

Students Chapter was done on 5th Oct 2016. Dele-

gates from the IEI Pune Local Centre were invited

for the Inauguration function. SE, TE and BE stu-

dents had attended the inauguration session. The
