The application period begins on February 9 and a citywide effort starts today to recruit eligible parents. Parents interested in becoming members of a Community or Citywide Education Council should visit NYCParentLeaders.org for more information. Parents interested in learning more about the roles and responsibilities of the Community and Citywide Education Councils should attend an information session. The first of a series of information sessions will take place at the Tweed Courthouse on February 13 at 6 p.m. Between March 20 and April 21, Presidents’ Councils in each district will host forums for candidates to engage parents and parent leaders. Brian Wade is an emerging playwright actor director performance artist and Brooklynite

produced successful Off Off Broadway stage readings of his highly anticipated script Colours

On the filmtelevision side of things Brian has written directed and produced two

critically acclaimed seasons of SubUrban Underground TV for Brooklyn Free Speech

and has a much anticipated feature film by the name of Canvas debuting at select film

festivals in early 2017

We are so happy to bring back this monthly event happening every second Saturday opening our

doors to all for a full day of free events February will be our most exciting yet as we launch a

very exciting project

Weeksville Transforming CommunityIn Pursuit Of Freedom a thought provoking collection-

based exhibition that explores the origins of one of the first free black communities in the

country

The opening will be accompanied by tours of the Historic Hunterfly Road Houses a screening of

Digging For Black Pride which chronicles the community centered archaeological dig of 1968

a family arts workshop BRICs Black TV Matters a screening of community produced shorts

and Voices of Crown Heights an oral history project in collaboration with our friends at the

Brooklyn Historical Society

Network suggests that we revive the Healthy Hearts Valentines Day celebration thats been so

enjoyable in past years

healthy options that promote good nutrition as well as fun love and sharing

This trolley tour covers two sites that honor Brooklynrsquos African-American history Green-Wood

Brian Wade is an emerging playwright actor director performance artist and Brooklynite

produced successful Off Off Broadway stage readings of his highly anticipated script Colours

On the filmtelevision side of things Brian has written directed and produced two

critically acclaimed seasons of SubUrban Underground TV for Brooklyn Free Speech

and has a much anticipated feature film by the name of Canvas debuting at select film

festivals in early 2017

We are so happy to bring back this monthly event happening every second Saturday opening our

doors to all for a full day of free events February will be our most exciting yet as we launch a

very exciting project

Weeksville Transforming CommunityIn Pursuit Of Freedom a thought provoking collection-

based exhibition that explores the origins of one of the first free black communities in the

country

The opening will be accompanied by tours of the Historic Hunterfly Road Houses a screening of

Digging For Black Pride which chronicles the community centered archaeological dig of 1968

a family arts workshop BRICs Black TV Matters a screening of community produced shorts

and Voices of Crown Heights an oral history project in collaboration with our friends at the

Brooklyn Historical Society

Brian Wade is an emerging playwright actor director performance artist and Brooklynite

Originally from Atlanta Georgia Brian attended both Valdosta and Georgia State University

produced successful Off Off Broadway stage readings of his highly anticipated script Colours

On the filmtelevision side of things Brian has written directed and produced two

critically acclaimed seasons of SubUrban Underground TV for Brooklyn Free Speech

and has a much anticipated feature film by the name of Canvas debuting at select film

festivals in early 2017

We are so happy to bring back this monthly event happening every second Saturday opening our

doors to all for a full day of free events February will be our most exciting yet as we launch a

very exciting project

Weeksville Transforming CommunityIn Pursuit Of Freedom a thought provoking collection-

based exhibition that explores the origins of one of the first free black communities in the

Brian Wade is an emerging playwright actor director performance artist and Brooklynite

Originally from Atlanta Georgia Brian attended both Valdosta and Georgia State University

before moving to New York to pursue film and theatre production In 2009 2010 amp 2012 Brian

produced successful Off Off Broadway stage readings of his highly anticipated script Colours

On the filmtelevision side of things Brian has written directed and produced two

critically acclaimed seasons of SubUrban Underground TV for Brooklyn Free Speech

and has a much anticipated feature film by the name of Canvas debuting at select film

festivals in early 2017

We are so happy to bring back this monthly event happening every second Saturday opening our

doors to all for a full day of free events February will be our most exciting yet as we launch a

very exciting project

Weeksville Transforming CommunityIn Pursuit Of Freedom a thought provoking collection-

based exhibition that explores the origins of one of the first free black communities in the

country

The opening will be accompanied by tours of the Historic Hunterfly Road Houses a screening of

Digging For Black Pride which chronicles the community centered archaeological dig of 1968

a family arts workshop BRICs Black TV Matters a screening of community produced shorts

and Voices of Crown Heights an oral history project in collaboration with our friends at the

Brooklyn Historical Society

Brian Wade is an emerging playwright actor director performance artist and Brooklynite

Originally from Atlanta Georgia Brian attended both Valdosta and Georgia State University

before moving to New York to pursue film and theatre production In 2009 2010 amp 2012 Brian

produced successful Off Off Broadway stage readings of his highly anticipated script Colours

On the filmtelevision side of things Brian has written directed and produced two

critically acclaimed seasons of SubUrban Underground TV for Brooklyn Free Speech

and has a much anticipated feature film by the name of Canvas debuting at select film

festivals in early 2017

We are so happy to bring back this monthly event happening every second Saturday opening our

Brian Wade is an emerging playwright actor director performance artist and Brooklynite

Originally from Atlanta Georgia Brian attended both Valdosta and Georgia State University

before moving to New York to pursue film and theatre production In 2009 2010 amp 2012 Brian

produced successful Off Off Broadway stage readings of his highly anticipated script Colours

On the filmtelevision side of things Brian has written directed and produced two

critically acclaimed seasons of SubUrban Underground TV for Brooklyn Free Speech

and has a much anticipated feature film by the name of Canvas debuting at select film

festivals in early 2017

We are so happy to bring back this monthly event happening every second Saturday opening our

doors to all for a full day of free events February will be our most exciting yet as we launch a

very exciting project

based exhibition that explores the origins of one of the first free black communities in the

country

The opening will be accompanied by tours of the Historic Hunterfly Road Houses a screening of

Digging For Black Pride which chronicles the community centered archaeological dig of 1968

a family arts workshop BRICs Black TV Matters a screening of community produced shorts

and Voices of Crown Heights an oral history project in collaboration with our friends at the

Brooklyn Historical Society

immigration legal clinic where anyone can get a screening and ask questions The Mexican

Consulate will be providing on-site consular services to their citizens Community organizations

Through January 2018 February 19 2017 marks the 75th anniversary of Executive Order 9066 the notorious wartime

directive that authorized the internment of Japanese citizens and American citizens of Japanese

heritage living in the Western United States This exhibition explores Isamu Noguchirsquos

extraordinary decisionmdashdespite being exempt from internment as a resident of New Yorkmdashto

enter the Poston War Relocation Center in the Arizona desert hoping to contribute something

positive to this forcibly displaced community In Noguchirsquos words ldquoThus I willfully became part

In conjunction with Weeksville Heritage Centers February exhibition In the Pursuit of Freedom

Brooklyn Free Speech will be on hand for a midday screening celebrating African-American

history and traditions Witness community produced shorts that portrait various facets of Black

American Life through satire art and activism Participate in the QampA to take part in this

ongoing and very relevant topic

Brian Wade is an emerging playwright actor director performance artist and Brooklynite

Originally from Atlanta Georgia Brian attended both Valdosta and Georgia State University

before moving to New York to pursue film and theatre production In 2009 2010 amp 2012 Brian

produced successful Off Off Broadway stage readings of his highly anticipated script Colours

On the filmtelevision side of things Brian has written directed and produced two

critically acclaimed seasons of SubUrban Underground TV for Brooklyn Free Speech

and has a much anticipated feature film by the name of Canvas debuting at select film

festivals in early 2017

We are so happy to bring back this monthly event happening every second Saturday opening our

doors to all for a full day of free events February will be our most exciting yet as we launch a

very exciting project

Weeksville Transforming CommunityIn Pursuit Of Freedom a thought provoking collection-

based exhibition that explores the origins of one of the first free black communities in the

country

The opening will be accompanied by tours of the Historic Hunterfly Road Houses a screening of

Digging For Black Pride which chronicles the community centered archaeological dig of 1968

a family arts workshop BRICs Black TV Matters a screening of community produced shorts

and Voices of Crown Heights an oral history project in collaboration with our friends at the

Brooklyn Historical Society
