Affiliated Foods Introduces Jason Brooks

Affiliated Foods would like to introduce Jason

Brooks, our new Website Designer.

Biography: Jason A. Brooks

I enlisted for 6 years in the U.S. Navy where I

was an Intelligence Specialist assigned to Na-

val Special Warfare Mission Strike. My job

was to study enemy capabilities, armament,

satellite imagery, and threat level to develop

the safe attack, extraction, and escape routes

for Underwater Warfare and Special Opera-

tion Units. After the Navy, I finished my BS degree in CIS (Computer Information Systems) from Colorado State University. I

have since worked as the Website Manager in Amarillo for Anderson Merchandisers, News Channel 10, and Bell Helicopter.

I work really hard at being a good Dad to my two son's Ryder James Brooks (9), and Jett Adventure Brooks (turning 2 in June). We

are looking forward to welcoming a little sister into the family this June as well. I also have a stunning fiancé named Geannie who

is a talented artist as well and stay at home Mom.

A lot of my spare time involves my kiddos, but when I do get "Grown-Up" time, I spend it at the shooting range. I enjoy building

and modifying gun's from the ground up. I also enjoy computer animation and design. I own a side business called Amarillo

Graphics that allows me to keep up with current design trends and website coding standards.

After spending 6 years in the Military and having the job that I did, I very often find myself in the mindset of "Yes Sir/No Sir/Stay

Quiet Until Called Upon", which is one of the reasons why I'm a Website Designer, not a lot of face to face interaction. It just takes

me a while to loosen up and feel at home someplace and then I assure you, I will be one of the funniest people you have ever met.

AFI would like to welcome Jason, hoping that he will feel at home in no time. We wish you many, many years of ongoing success

with our company.

“I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile,

I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction: 'I served in the United States Navy.”

Employee of the Year 2012 - Erica Urena

Employee of the Month - March - Jimmy Ramos Our newest Employee of the Month, Jimmy Ra-mos, works under the direction of Ralph Telles as an Order Selector in our Perishable Department. Jimmy has been with AFI since March, 2009. Ralph says he always turns to Jimmy to get things done. He believes Jimmy to have a good work eth-ic and a can-do attitude. Jimmy is married to Kathleen and they share a 17-month old son, Zayden. The family likes to spend time at the park, bowling and going to the movies. In his spare time, Jimmy likes to write songs, listen to music or play pool. Jimmy’s favorite foods are enchiladas and gorditas. Jimmy’s favorite movie is American Me, starring Edward James Olmos. The most influential element in Jimmy’s life has been rap music. Jimmy tells us he grew up listen-ing to the best rap music around and because of it has begun writing songs and hopes to have a suc-cessful music career one day. He selected gift certificates from The Plaza Restau-rant and will receive an additional 250 safety bonus points. Thanks for all you do, Jimmy.

Congratulations!

Randy Arceneaux / President and CEO presents the “Employee of the Month” award to Jimmy Ramos.

At Affiliated Foods, when we hire a new order selector there is a working standard that must be met in the first 60 days of employment. The Warehouse Management System calculates time for each store order based on Engineered Labor Standard. This time / standard must be met at 100% by the first 60 days. Once the selector achieves 100% of standard and keeps that standard or above, they become qualified order se-lectors. This process helps orders to be pulled in a timely manner.
