The Year 9 group at the Oasis School have recently celebrated their graduation and what better way than with a party. Many children have been greatly blessed through the work CCCUK does in the Wayuu and huge strides have been taken to make sure things are up to scratch in this very remote region of the Colombian desert. The Wayuu Centre is now complete with a thriving nursery school where 60 3-5 year olds start their education. When they have nished preschool they will literally move next door into the Christian school where they all receive not only an education but a mid-morning snack and lunch. The centre is able to employ three members of staff. mid-morning snack and lunch. The centre is able to employ three members of staff. Three teachers also work in the centre but they are paid through a government initiative. This is a very special part of Colombia covering a large area of desert where these nomadic people make their living by herding goats.

Sabina has spent several months translating Christian books which focus on life issues such as relationships and also a youth bible into their national language.

The small (house) groups that were started last year are going well with over a third of the church being members of these. Chris and Sabina are hoping to raise more leaders so that more of the small groups can be launched.

Diana, a member of the church has developed the mission department of the church and regularly leads teams in activities for the mission work in Macedonia and to the gypsy community in the north of Slovenia.Macedonia and to the gypsy community in the north of Slovenia.Next month Chris plans to attend a pastoral conference in Switzerland (6 hours drive from Ljubljana) - he hopes to build relationships with other pastors.
