Newell Rubbermaid Newell Rubbermaid Corporate Headquarters Salas O’Brien provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection design services for Newell Rubbermaid’s corporate headquarters. This multi- floor design project included administration offices, meeting rooms, fully functional commercial kitchen and cafeteria, fitness center, retail showroom, and product testing labs. The fully functional demonstration kitchen features a cooking theatre with built in theatre sound, specialty lighting, cameras, and LCD screens all designed to deliver performance during consumer demonstrations of Rubbermaid products. The engineering design included supplemental air conditioning systems that were added to support dense occupancy, energy conservation measures, automatic lighting controls, water saving plumbing fixtures, and R-410 A refrigerant HVAC system. By utilizing creative design methods, Salas O’Brien was able to overcome the constraints of the existing twenty year old base building and deliver a state of the art, energy efficient, healthy environment project.
