Newborns’ Eyesight Development

Newborns don’t have fully developed
vision

They are seeing black
and white and can’t focus yet

It often takes several months
before eyesight is fully developed

But your child’s vision health starts before that

Don’t Smoke During Pregnancy

You've heard it before, but poor vision health
is a possible side-effect of smoking during pregnancy

As your baby’s vision improves they can make out their mother’s face
and have a strong affinity for it

So try not to change your appearance

The ability to distinguish color and light is developed from month one to month three

Best practice is to add bright colors to their room and place
them on their belly when you are supervising

Month Six
Overall vision is near established including ability to distinguish
colors and light
