New Zealand Your Way provides a range of Self Drive and Seat-in-Coach touring modules that are tailored especially for the independent traveller in New Zealand. ATS Pacific New Zealand’s carefully designed itineraries feature three ranges of hotel accommodation, a choice of Standard, Superior and First Class categories, which have been selected because of convenience, service, and value for money. With each itinerary a traveller can choose to travel in a rental car on a Self Drive basis, or on daily tourist class coach services on a Seat-in-Coach basis. All services are pre-booked.

ItinerariesWe have carefully planned an array of special and unique New Zealand holidays. These holiday itineraries range from short stays in the North Island only, through to extensive programmes that include both the North and South Islands of New Zealand and that will see you visit New Zealand’s top points of interest. You will find the selection of New Zealand Your Way itineraries on page 5.

AccommodationWe have selected the best value accommodation, in three standards. On page 6-9 you will find a summary of the Standard, Superior and First Class hotels included in your package options.

Seat in Coach OptionFor the ultimate relaxation select a Seat-in-Coach tour which combines daily tourist class coach services, quality accommodation and popular sightseeing activities on Great Sights and Intercity coaches. All coaches have large panoramic windows, air conditioning and comfortable seating. Most coaches have a rest room, on coach video and twin doors allowing easier access. Coach driver/guides are experienced, friendly and willing to help during the touring day. On most sectors they provide an informative commentary and luggage service. Foreign language commentary is also available (through headphones) on most touring routes (Japanese and Mandarin). As these modules are designed for independent travellers, without the structure of a group tour, it is important to note that you will travel with different drivers and passengers each day. The meeting of new friends is one of the highlights of a New Zealand Your Way Seat-in-Coach Tour.

Motorhome OptionEnjoy the freedom of touring around New Zealand in a spacious, fully equipped motorhome. Visit beautiful lakes, beaches and mountains as you travel around the country at your own pace.

Self Drive OptionFor the ultimate flexibility, select a Self-Drive tour, which combines a rental car, quality accommodation and popular sightseeing activities. You will find driving through New Zealand a pleasure. The scenery is superb, the roads of a high standard and the people friendly and courteous. New Zealand’s roads are of a good quality, although sometimes narrow and winding. The majority of main roads are sealed and free of congestion. For your Self Drive tour, choose from a variety of vehicle categories to easily accommodate your travelling party and luggage needs (see page 4).

Drive New Zealand with Thrifty Car Rental

We have selected Thrifty Car Rental for your New Zealand Your Way Self Drive journey.

In New Zealand, Thrifty Car Rental operates a network of over 28 locations, including outlets at all major cities and major provincial locations. Every major New Zealand airport is serviced. Thrifty Car Rental also has depots in the ferry terminals at the Wellington and Picton. Thrifty Car Rental operates high quality, late model vehicles, which are presented fully groomed for you on arrival. The Thrifty Car Rental fleet is constantly being updated and all vehicles are regularly serviced and maintained to a high standard for your comfort and safety.

CONDITIONS

Rate Calculation: One rental day is calculated on a 24 hour basis. A grace period of 59 minutes is offered after which a full day rate will be charged. Rates are based on the season of pick up date.

Drivers Licence and Minimum Age Minimum rental age is 21 years. (Surcharge applies for 21-24 year olds)

Drivers must present a full national driving licence which has been least for at least one year. A current international driving license or translation must accompany driving licences not in the English language.

Multi-Hire and Inter Island Rentals: Rentals from several locations within one itinerary can accumulate the total number of days, provided the subsequent vehicle is collected within 72 hours. Vehicles cannot be taken on the Inter Island Ferry between North and South Islands but Inter Island hires can be treated as one continuous hire provided the subsequent vehicle is collected within 72 hours. Vehicle type may differ for each rental sector.

One Way Rentals: Minimum hire is 3 days. One way hires 3-4 days = NZD57.50 charge There is no charge for 5 or more days Charges apply to all rental sectors that total less than 5 days.

DAY 1 - ARRIVE BRISBANE - MORETON ISLAND

Meet and greet on arrival at Brisbane Airport. Transfer to Holt Street Wharf to board a 75 minute Catamaran Cruise to Moreton Island. Experience the exciting 4WD Desert Safari and sand tobogganing. In the evening, hand-feed wild bottlenose dolphins.

DAY 2 - MORETON ISLAND - SUNSHINE COAST - GOLD COAST

Depart Moreton Island by Catamaran to Holt Street Wharf, then proceed to Sunshine Coast. View the Glasshouse Mountains on the way to Australia Zoo. Steve Irwin’s world famous Zoo has over 1200 animals. Next, stopover at the Ginger Factory and Nutworks Factory. Continue to Ettamogah Pub for a photo stop on the way back to the Gold Coast.

DAY 5 - GOLD COAST

Spend a fun - filled day at Dreamworld Gold Coast Theme Park with its Australian sheep shearing show, a close encounter with the crocodiles, kangaroos and Tiger Island . Adventure seekers can go on the thrilling rides. Next visit Skypoint Observation Deck, located in the heart of Surfers Paradise. Experience one of Australia’s fastest elevators for 43-second journey as it rises 230 meters above sea level.

DAY 6- GOLD COAST - TWEED HEADS – GOLD COAST

Depart for Tweed River for a Catch-a-Crab cruise. Watch how crabs are trapped and caught and then taste the freshly cooked crabs. Visit the Oyster Farm to sample the fresh farm oysters. Airlines. Fiji Airways fly Hong Kong to Nadi twice a week. Korean Airlines also twice a week from Seoul. There are daily flights from Sydney and Auckland.

Visa. Fiji is visa free for Chinese citizens who hold a passport valid for more than 6 months and a return air ticket.

Currency. Australian, New Zealand, United States, Hong Kong and Japanese currencies are accepted in Fiji. China Union Pay card is also now accepted in many places.

Welcome to Fiji. Our ATS Pacific representative will meet you and provide you with a brief tour of Nadi so you can experience the Fiji Island life style. You will be transferred to your hotel for some relaxing time.

DAY 2

Today you will join the Tivua Island Day Cruise which includes a tropical barbecue lunch. You have the opportunity to enjoy snorkelling, diving, kayaking and a glass bottom boat tour.

DAY 3

Today’s Sigatoka River Tour offers a half-day, uniquely Fijian adventure into the heart and soul of Fiji, aboard custom-built safari jet boats. You will travel along the Sigatoka River in jet boats to visit authentic Fijian villages and experience a day in the life of the Fijian people and shares the history, customs and legends of the area.

DAY 4

Self Drive Passengers Car Rental PolicyCar rental usage is based on the number of days in the package. Should flight arrival and flight departure times exceed the number of days of the package, the car must either be returned within the packaged rental period, or passengers will have to pay the difference should they wish to keep the rental car until departure. RefundsNo refund will be available once travel has commenced in respect of tours, accommodations or any other services not utilised.

InsuranceATS Pacific strongly recommends the purchase of comprehensive travel insurance from your travel agent. This should include protection against cancellation charges, loss or damage of personal effects, loss of cash, medical expenses and personal liability.

Passport/VisasA valid passport is required for entry into all New Zealand. Check with your travel agent regarding visa requirements for New Zealand as ATS Pacific takes no responsibility for visa issuance.

Hotels & ChangesChanges in itinerary, accommodation or services are not likely, however ATS Pacific reserves the right to make such changes if necessary for the comfort or safety of the passengers or for circumstances beyond our control.
