This investment continues to transform neighborhoods throughout Indianapolis. These projects create local jobs and increase public safety for neighborhoods and residents, which supports Mayor Ballard’s commitment to make Indianapolis a more livable city. PROJECT SCOPE The Indianapolis Department of Public Works will convert the existing one-way New York Street through IUPUI’s campus to a two-way street, from West Street to White River Parkway. The work mirrors a similar project on Michigan Street to calm traffic and increase pedestrian safety throughout the campus.
