REAR DIFFERENTIAL ACTUATOR MOTOR - PART NUMBER 600-221

The Dynamax AWD system fitted to many Kia and Hyundai All Wheel Drive vehicles provides continuous distribution of torque to both axles.

The key feature of this system is that it electronically simulates a permanent mechanical AWD differential system, while eliminating all the disadvantages. This is constantly monitored by an ECM that adjusts the power distribution according to the information received by the vehicles electronics and driving conditions.

The ECM then activates an electronic oil pump actuator to engage and disengage a series of clutches housed in the rear differential. In some cases, this can fail without prior warning or being alerted. If this occurs, you will lose AWD assistance and require a replacement actuator.

Engagement of the AWD system is crucial especially during slippery weather conditions.

The Powertrain Interface Module (PIM) fitted to Holden VY and VZ models acts as a communication gateway between the Body Control Module (BCM) and Engine Control Module (ECM). The PIM is also part of theft deterrent authentication process or immobiliser system.

Some common faults being reported by our customers include no start, fuel and temp gauges inoperative, no crank or even a chattering starter relay. Also in most of these situations, no scan tool communication can be established with the PIM module.

If a vehicle is presenting with a no start, no crank scenario and no communication can be established with the scan tool, provided the PIM has battery voltage (12V) at Pin 15 when ignition key is at ON position and there is a good ground reference (0V) at Pin 16, it can be assumed that the PIM is faulty.

For faults related to theft deterrent fault codes, check that the key is functioning with the BCM and that no key-related codes are logged in the BCM. If the key and BCM checks out ok, then it is possible that the PIM module has lost its link. If the PIM cannot be relinked to the system it can be confirmed that the fault lies with the PIM module itself.

Injectronics can perform all hardware and software repairs to the PIM module. The unit will be returned to the customer as a “plug and play” unit with no further programming required. The customer must send the ECM, BCM, PIM, and key for testing or repairs.

The MK61 Antilock Braking System (ABS) module is fitted to a wide range of vehicles including the popular Mitsubishi Outlander. Owners have experienced a common issue with the ABS warning light illuminating in the central instrument cluster. The ABS light illuminating a common symptom when the ABS unit fails.

In some cases, it can be as simple as replacing a faulty wheel speed sensor, but the large majority of vehicles are being diagnosed with a faulty ABS control unit. After performing the basic checks, including scanning the vehicle for diagnostic trouble codes, many dealerships are suggesting a complete replacement ABS unit is required.

Unfortunately, once these vehicles are outside of the dealers warranty period a replacement unit can cost in excess of $2000. Injectronics offer a cost effective alternative and can remanufacture the customers own MK61 ABS unit. This guarantees no reprogramming is required once that unit is refitted to the original vehicle which is also more efficient.

Common faults that occur due to a failed ABS module include, no communication between the scan tool and the ABS module. As well as the fault codes listed below:
