INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
1. You must spend a minimum of 10 consecutive weeks in an approved study abroad, internship or volunteer (service-learning) experience. This could be completed during the fall, spring or summer. Your IE must have a cultural and language immersion component based on the language in which you will have proficiency.
2. You must be in good academic standing with the university.
3. You must complete (or test out of) 101, 102, 201, and 202 of the language you have chosen, as well as INTS 201 before your IE. After your IE, you will be eligible to enroll in INTS 481. You must earn a grade of “C” or better in each of these courses.
4. Your IE must generate a minimum of 3 hours of approved academic credit.
5. Once approved for travel by the INTS advising office, it is your responsibility to follow Texas A&M procedures for study abroad and transfer credit. In most cases this is done under the direction of the Study Abroad Office located in the Pavilion.
6. Experiences abroad prior to the completion of these requirements will not satisfy the IE requirement.

There are 3 different ways courses can appear on your Texas A&M Transcript:
1. Direct Transfer – These courses have been deemed equivalent to an existing TAMU course.
2. Transfer by Title – These courses might be equivalent to a TAMU course, but more additional information is needed in order to be used in your degree.
3. Nontransferable – These courses are not equivalent and cannot be used to satisfy a TAMU course.
