What is St Paul’s Sure Start Children’s Centre?St Paul’s Sure Start Children’s Centre is a place where children under five years of age and their families can access help and support from teams of professionals… including managing childrens’ behaviour, parenting skills, supporting children with additional needs, ante and post-natal support, healthy living, play and learning - and more. A ‘one stop shop’ for parents.
We offer:• information on local services• parent support with questions regarding parenting
issues e.g. behaviour management, sleep, toileting, fussy eating, how to stop the use of a dummy
• access to education and careers information• debt advice• housing information• support for adults and children who have
disabilities.• speech and language support • antenatal and postnatal groups • breastfeeding advice• healthy eating advice• play and learn sessions

Opening timesThe centre is open for 48 weeks a year - closed for the last two weeks of August and two weeks over Christmas. Contact time - 8.15am - 4.30pm
Childcare placesWe have childcare available at our main site and have partners across our area who are able to provide childcare and nursery places.
SchoolSt Paul’s Children’s Centre is led and managed by St Paul’s School in Tongham but supports families across a very wide geographical area. We work in partnership with other local infant and primary schools.

Centre ObjectivesSure Start Children’s Centres bring together services for children from birth to five years in a multi-professional way. They work with children and families within and across the community. They aim to support and are inclusive of all families but do focus especially on the neediest children and families.
St Paul’s is a welcoming inclusive centre providing advice and support for parents, carers and their children. The “reach area” is vast and so we use a variety of venues and also have very close links with the other centres and organisations across the borough of Guildford (see pages 4-5 for a map).
