    Prayer of Invocation/Confession

We thank You, God, for the gift of life

and the joy we find in living. Thank

You for good times and bad times,

sunny days and dark times. You are

with us through them all. Today we

come to dwell in Your presence. We

desire to leave our heavy loads of

    uncertainty, worries and fears with

You, because You are able to bear them.

Help us to turn from anxiety to

    thanksgiving, from helplessness to

strength, from despair to hope. We give

You thanks because we are richly

blessed. And we also know that there

are many who are not happy and many

who suffer. Help us to be more

    compassionate, loving and willing to

share and to help. Redeemer God, help

us to share the Good News, with all

the world, that Jesus lives. We offer

this prayer in the Name of Jesus! Amen.

I will extol You, my God and King,

and bless Your name forever and ever.

Every day I will bless You and praise

    Your name forever and ever.

OFFERTORY PRAYER O God, we pray many prayers, for many

causes, and we thank You for hearing us.

Now, we pray one more prayer; that You

would grant us grace to give our tithes,

mission gifts and sacrificial offerings, so

that Your name will be glorified and

people will be blessed. Thank You for

another chance and may we seize these

moments, in such a spirit of gratitude and

worship, that we all might be blessed.

May our faith be deepened and Your name

    glorified, again and again. Amen.

He sent redemption to his people; he has

    commanded his covenant forever. Holy

and terrible is his name! The fear of the

Lord is the beginning of wisdom; a good

understanding have all those who practice

    it. His praise endures forever!

Quotes from Dr. Myles Munroe's book...“Understanding The Purpose and Power of

    Prayer"

"God is loving and gracious. He knows we have a limited understanding of

Himself and His ways, and that we struggle with our fallen nature. That is

why He will at times answer our prayers even when they are weak and full

of doubt. However, as a loving Father, He wants us to grow and mature. He

wants us to enter into His purposes, because that is where we can truly be

children of our heavenly Father and work together with Him."

“Grief Tool Box” - November 2014

“Practice Gratitude” After experiencing a devastating loss, it is natural to wonder, “What could I possibly have to be grateful for right now?” After all, gratitude is something you feel when things are going well, and your time of grief is not such a time. Gratitude is what is expressed when you appreciate what is happening in your life, and appreciation is not likely something you feel in the aftermath of loss. Remember that loss is a part of life and grief does not only the result of death. You may have failed at something you wanted desperately, experienced a terrible divorce, or a relationship ended after many years of dating. Please take a few minutes with paper and pencil in hand and list where you can “Practice Gratitude”.

Look at relationships. Who is someone you appreciate having in your life right now? This could be a close friend, your spouse, teacher, parent, or sibling.

Look at the actions of others. What has someone done for you to offer encouragement or love that you appreciate? Let them know how you feel about their thoughtfulness with the words “thank you” or a beautiful card.

Look at the ordinary things in your life. What adds to your life of faith on a daily basis? I hope it is prayer, reading your bible and meditation, and taking care of body as well as those you love.

(Wolfelt, A. 2010, The mourners book of hope, Companion Press, p.141. modified) Scripture

“Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you”. 1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18 KJV

Prayer Dear LORD, I am grateful for your love, mercy, and grace. Help me and others who have loss in so many ways Jesus to live a life of gratitude and hope. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
