Farm Shows Showcase New Products and Technology

Cold and dreary weather didn’t put a damper on Husker Harvest Days, the three-day show in Grand Island, NE. The show drew thousands of producers who were anx-ious to get a look at new equipment and technologies from New Holland and nearly 600 other exhibitors. New Holland’s equipment display featured the newest product introductions including the new Big Baler 340 Plus, T9 Standard SmartTrax™ II and T6 2WD, as well as the NHDrive autonomous concept tractor. One of the most popular attractions at the show is the field demonstrations. Farmers took to the fields to watch corn harvesting, self-propelled sprayers, irrigation equip-ment, and a haying demonstration, where windrowing, baling and bale handling equipment was featured.

Ohio Farm Science Review London, OH

While Husker Harvest Days drew producers on the western edge of the Corn Belt, the Ohio Farm Science Review at Ohio State University’s Molly Caren Agricultural Center near London, OH, was focused on diversified operations. The three-day Farm Science Review attracted visitors from all over the United States and Canada who came to check out the newest technology and learn the latest in agricultural production. The show included educational programs, featuring Ohio State and Purdue specialists, field demonstrations and a large exhibit area. New Holland’s exhibit featured the new Big Baler 340 Plus, the T6 2WD, and a variety of interactive displays. The interactive OnBoard 360 app, which offers

a virtual reality experience aboard a New Holland combine or tractor (above) and the PLM™ driving challenge (below) are popular attractions at farm shows.

Canada's Outdoor Farm Show Woodstock, Ontario

Here’s How You Can SCORE MORE!

Look for the SCORE MORE! icon throughout New Holland Dealer News. Activities like these are eligible for points in the onPoint! Dealer Standards Program.

New Holland traditionally is well-represented at Canada ‘s Outdoor Farm Show, and this year was no exception. Held in Woodstock, Ontario, September 13-15, the show attracts more than

40,000 visitors. All of the New Holland dealerships in Ontario join forces to sponsor and staff the exhibit. Visitors were able to view New Holland’s full line of equipment and customers were invited to relax in the Club Blue section of the lot. This year, the New Holland exhibit featured a Hockey Shot game to promote the company’s sponsorship of the World Junior Championships of Hockey. Visitors had fun shooting pucks into targets and depending on their success, won a foam puck, a New Holland hat or had their name entered into a drawing to win tickets for the World Junior Champion-ship in Toronto.

New for Compact Track Loaders!

Beginning with units ordered for the October 2016 Order Writing Period, all C232 and C238 compact track loader models will come standard with undercarriage hose covers. These hose covers will protect the hydraulic lines going out to the tracks from debris and ensure a reliable machine for years to come. Also new is a C238 Fast Pick configuration that will include an enclosed cab with HVAC and high-flow hydraulics. See your October 2016 Price & Data pages for details.

The Hockey Shot game encouraged customers to try their skills in hopes of winning a prize. The game promoted New Holland’s sponsorship of the World Junior Championships of Hockey.

New Holland held its annual New Holland Dealers Sales Training Event the day before the start of the Big Iron Farm Show, held September 13 –15 in West Fargo, North Dakota. “We provided a full eight hours of dealer sales training on equipment and services offered by New Holland,” says Richard Solberg, Field Product Special-ist, Midwest Region. Logistically, doing the training be-fore the show saves time, travel and money because all the equipment is already being moved in for the show, says Solberg. Mandatory breakout ses-sions on mid-range tractors, hay cutting, hay packaging, skid steer and compact track loaders were offered along with ala carte sessions on high horsepower tractors, combines, spray-ers, compact tractors, precision farm-ing, and CNH Industrial Capital.

Training Preps Sales Staff for Big Iron Farm Show

“As a result, the dealer personnel working the display lot during the Big Iron show received training on the latest equipment and features and were better equipped to answer customer questions and guide purchasers toward the right equipment and options,” says Solberg. Sixty-six dealer principals, store managers and sales staff from Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota attended the training.

Dealer sales training prior to the Big Iron Show focused on mid-range trac-tors, haytools, skid steers and compact track loaders.

CNH Industrial Enters Exclusive Mini-Excavator Alliance with HHI In September, CNH Industrial announced an exclusive agreement with Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) for the pro-duction and development of mini-excavators. The two com-panies will collaborate on the global mini-excavator busi-ness. Hyundai Heavy Industries grants global manufacturing licensing, OEM supply, component and spare parts supply to CNH Industrial. The two companies will also start a joint de-velopment program for new model introductions. Once fully realized, the mini-excavator product offering will include 14 models ranging from one ton to six tons. “This relationship brings together the know-how and expertise of two leading global construction equipment manufacturers, allowing us to take advantage of synergies in terms of technology selection and adaptation, compo-nent sourcing, and research and development costs. Our ability to manufacture and source from our geographically complementary industrial base will allow for scale ad-vantages in product costs to be realized, while ensuring that product lead times and logistics costs are minimized for our dealer network,” commented Rich Tobin, Chief Executive Officer, CNH Industrial. Order writing for mini-excavators is planned to begin in November.

New Holland’s mini-excavators were featured during the Operation Blue and Yellow Drive training.

This summer, Roberts Farm Equipment, with three locations in western Ontario, celebrated an open

house at its new facility in Mount Forest. The new 17,000-square-foot build-ing sits on 12 acres and replaces a smaller facility north of town that the dealership outgrew. The new facility features a new service entrance and three times the space for technicians, a new parts counter and parts room, and more room to grow in the future. The Roberts crew was over-whelmed by the support from the community. Nearly 1,000 people attended the grand opening, which was also covered by local media. Visitors enjoyed tours, a ribbon cutting, barbecue lunch, door prizes and visiting with dealer reps.

Commitment to agriculture “It was quite a step to do this to this size, but we are committed to agri-culture and we always have been, we always will be,” Brian Ostendorff told the Mount Forest Confederate news-paper. Brian co-owns the dealership’s three stores with his brother, Bruce. The Mount Forest location carries a full line of New Holland equipment as well as lawn and garden tractors and chain saws. “We cover everything that happens in Ontario. We have something for everybody,” says Bruce. The dealership, founded by Robert Ostendorff in 1968, began as an on-farm repair shop.

All New Holland dealers in Canada can take advantage of the “Sticks and Stones” lead generation promotions that are tied in with New Holland’s Canadian curling and hockey sponsorships. New Holland customers can support their favorite sport by choosing to participate in the hockey “Score Four” promotion or vote for curling by entering the “Four for the House” sweepstakes – or both!

STICKS! The promotion that supports New Holland’s IIHA World Junior Hockey Sponsorship is called “Score Four.” Custom-ers can enter this contest to win four tickets, travel and accommodations to the IIHA World Junior Championships. The “Score Four” promotion runs October 1 to November 30, 2016. The winner will be randomly selected December 8, 2016. Customers can review “Score Four” contest rules and can also enter online www.sticksandstones.newholland.com.

STONES! For the third year, New Holland is partnering with Curl-ing Canada’s Season of Champions. We’re bringing back the successful “Four for the House” promotion to generate even more leads. Like last year, the winner of the “Four for the House” promotion will win tickets, travel and accommodations for four family members or friends to the Tim Hortons Brier curling tournament. This year’s tournament will be played in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Winners will receive tickets for all draws during the last four days of The Brier only – March 9 to 12, 2017. The “Four for the House” promotion runs October 1, 2016 to January 31, 2017. Please note that this promotion runs longer than hockey’s “Score Four.” The winner will be randomly selected February 10, 2017.

Seeding a Great Partnership New Holland is collaborating with fellow Curling Canada sponsor, DuPont Pioneer, in the creation of two new TV spots. New Holland is producing two new 15-second spots called “Planting” and “Harvesting.” These two spots subtly feature DuPont Pioneer’s canola seeds and brand along with New Holland seeding and planting equipment and the CR combine. DuPont Pioneer is producing a 30-second spot focused on corn silage that features a New Holland FR forage harvester. Our thanks to Markusson New Holland in Regina for their help with the production of these two new spots.

Sectional Snow Pusher – NEW Product, NEW Programs!

Stressed for Time? Looking for Easy Access to Digital Marketing? Check Out AMP!

Still on the fence about the AMP! program? “If you are massively creative, and have tons of time, then perhaps you don't need this pro-gram. But, if you are stressed for time, looking for great ad content, easy accessibility to digital

marketing, and other avenues to increase awareness of New Holland products for your dealership, then I would highly recommend the program. I am truly a fan,” says Laura Rinderknecht, Comptroller, Williamson County Equipment, Taylor, TX “I was one of the dealers who initially chose the basic package, and therefore lost the small amount of co-op that I had. This was really an issue for me. Thankfully, Mark Low-ery, our Regional Marketing Specialist, came by our dealer-ship and went through the program with us. That helped more than you can know,” she says. Excited about AMP! Since then, Rinderknecht has been onboard and excited about the AMP! program. Products she has used or recently signed up for include the publication list, silent salesman, automatic social posts, the welcome kit, POP kit, television commercials for use during University of Texas and Texas A&M games, and directory listings. “Our publication list was outdated, so we updated that. The Facebook auto-posts are a great way to keep current, and the welcome kit is a great idea with the card and letter

being the perfect touch. I really enjoy New Holland stepping up in the marketing field, and I do see results in our sales. I have definitely seen a significant upswing in our market share. I think this is due in part to higher visibility from AMP! programs, and in New Holland’s increasing its marketing presence overall,” she says.

This year’s show featured 3,100 registered cattle, the elite from every state and province, competing for the Grand Champion title. Renowned farm broadcaster Pam Jahnke, Farm Director at Wisconsin Farm Report Radio, broadcast from the New Holland booth. To encourage showgoers to provide their contact infor-mation, drawings for iPads were held each day of the show. These leads will be forwarded to dealers for follow-up.
