UOC, an innovative university

We want UOC to become an innovative university, but don’t

want a university that just makes innovation

INNOVATION

model futur (NEXT UOC).

competitiu.

definir (marca/aliances), estructurar (negoci) i

a garantir (processos) l'increment de

presència internacional de la UOC de forma

constant i sostenible.

MISSION The UOC is an innovative university … Strategic plan The strategic plan places innovation as one of the main priorities…

Page 8: New models of teaching and learning and innovations in course design and curriculum development

8

To be an innovative university we need to know What, Who and How

What? Making ideas come true, where decisions are based

on available data, and on the results from the first pilot test

the innovations, becoming disruptive .

Who? Potentially everyone. It is a cross-cutting activity:

interdisciplinary collaboration between academics and

management, and where all the UOC community can both

generate ideas and implement them .

How? Internally: bottom-up & top-down and externally:

coming from Business, In & Out.

Page 9: New models of teaching and learning and innovations in course design and curriculum development

9

Understanding the innovation process as a

whole, distributed to all areas and

departments at UOC.

Ideas Projects Innovations

Ideas from anywhere in the UOC, anytime, via internal or external calls or via normal activity of the university.

Developed by way of standard development projects or creating ad hoc circuits.

Once the projects have a successful outcome in real environments, this can be applied to the UOC and can be transferred.
