1.2l3-Cylinder Engine Redesigned

Exhaust System

The Nissan MICRA 3 cylinder, 12 valve

engine has less moving parts, reducing

friction and thermal losses. Combined

with a compact and light-weight engine

achieved.

A new exhaust system enabled

the deletion of the centre

structure with lower noise

levels.

REFINEMENT INNOVAT

The unusual boomerang grooves on the roof is an aerodynamic

solution to reduce noise at higher speeds. Normally there is a mass

damper in the roof to do this job, but with the boomerang groove

the damper was not necessary.

SUSTAINABILITYNissan designs cars with innovation in mind and the Nissan MICRA is no exception. Nissan further, strives to reduce energy waste

to lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

Weight

Developed and built on Nissans all-new, global V-platform, the new Nissan MICRA is light, which in turn allows for the use

boomerang groove roof which, in addition, provides an aerodynamic solution to prevent wind noise at higher speeds.

Engine

l3 cylinder engine. The compact and lightweight 3 cylinder

engine achieves maximum torque at low engine speeds as result of higher air intake.

The 3 cylinder engine manages to reach superior noise and vibration performance, this is

done by a number of curve and the cone shaped parts in the engine and using an unbalanced

structure of Fly wheel and Crank pulley.
