I – ANIMO an intelligent animator -Abhijith Marathakam CEMP, [email protected] Abstract In this era of advanced CG technology, where visual effects and 3D animations are widely used in many applied spheres of life rather than just for means of entertainment, a more realistic and lifelike designing of 3D models and animations has become a vital requirement of the hour. Here I try to adopt a new approach to 3D modeling and animations , by increasing the premises of designing from just pixel based creation to a more close to life approach. The idea is to imbibe the basic laws of matter ,like the Newtonian laws of matter and motion, the elasticity properties of matter, reactions of bodies to the influences of the “Panchabhoothas” (includes Earth,Water,Air,Fire,Ether or , here light).etc.., which will give the models a much more finer resemblance to real life objects. This project is aimed not just at the largely developing area of film productions where millions of dollars and manpower is lavishly spent for the creation of life like animations and CG effects, but also in accurately recreating an atmosphere which would otherwise impossible or can be created at the expense of huge amount of financial resources. Just take the example of an astronomical experiment. The real experiments may cost huge funds and also risk of failures which may prevent many from trying out their innovations. So here is when this new 3D approach comes to help. All their experiments can be stimulated with at most accuracy without spending even a penny. Another case is to recreate a disaster or an accident scene. Its humanly impossible. But using this new software, by analyzing the tire marks, the damages of the vehicle, the impact situations etc the scene could easily be recreated , which opens up a large door to empower safety and stringent the rules and so on. All they have to do is to type in the physical properties and nature of the material and the object is created by the program. The basic architecture of the program is based on the concepts of physics , as i said earlier , this empowers it to generate behaviors of models and to give a more natural way of animation. The ordinary animation system concept that concentrates on pixel level based designing and motion tracking techniques , which demands huge amount of labor and time to be invested for a recognizable amount of output.
