HAPPY NEW YEAR,

I can’t believe it is Jan. 1, 2013 already. There were 48 that celebrated the Holiday season at the Red Ox on Dec. 11th. We all had a great time with a great dinner. With the fun of the exchange gift, collection of food for the local food pantry and the donation of half of the 50/50 collected being donated to the Salvation Army (approx. $100) we all had a great time & counted our blessings. With the last snow, we all should be anxious to get on the slopes. There are some OPENINGS for the BIG SNOW, INDIANHEAD/BLACKJACK TRIP ON JAN. 11-13. Lisa Belau (our Vice President) is the first time trip leader for that trip. The trip is packed full of skiing & food. We will pick up in De Pere at WalMart and leave at 5:30PM. Parking will be on the south side of the garden center close to the building. We will then load & leave at 6PM from The Bar on Lynndale in Appleton. Park as usual, in the lot farthest from the front door (near the dumpster area). We want to thank those businesses for allowing us to park there for the weekend. We will have subs on the way up with beverages and that’s only the start of our almost all inclusive trip (beverages on your own while we are there). Transportation (with subs on the way up), lodging, lift tickets, breakfasts, lunches, dinner Sat. night and pizza party before we head home, all for only $270. Get signed up early so you do not miss this trip. The Indianhead lodge needs a final count by Jan. 7th. THE PRE-TRIP MEETING IS JAN. 2ND along with our general membership meeting.On Jan. 25th, a group of 77 will venture to Morzine, France & Paris. Sam Fontaine is our trip leader and runs a great trip. He covers all the details and with many extras, like a ticket to go up the Eiffel Tower when we arrive in Paris, should be a memorable trip. Sam & I did explore the areas this last fall and found the ski area & Le Cret where we are staying in Morzine beautiful. Paris is awesome and a lot to take in. The PRE-TRIP MEETING for that trip is JAN. 16TH. Again, that is also our general membership meeting. The next trip is a Midwest trip with OPENINGS to MARQUETTE MOUNTAIN, FEB. 15-17TH. Dar Kramer (our Historian) will be our trip leader and has run that trip before. Again, there are all the bells & whistles for only $280. There is quite a bunch signed up already so get your name in to join the fun. Transportation (with subs on the way up), lodging, breakfasts, lunches, dinner Sat. night and a poolside wine & cheese reception Sat. at the hotel. Again, we have a lot signed up but the earlier you sign up will help the trip leader with her organization of the hotel rooms and all the other supplies needed for the trip. The PRE-TRIP MEETING for final details & questions is FEB. 6TH, along with our general membership meeting. The final trip is wait listed for COPPER MOUNTAIN COLORADO, MARCH 22-26TH for $850 with trip leader Sam Fontaine. Hopefully there will not be anyone that will be forced to cancel since it is such a great mountain but that is where the wait list comes in. The pre-trip meeting will be at the general membership meeting on March 20th. See the Newsletter for all the details & sign up form. Need more skiing, check out the Gelandesprung’s list of ski trips. We are also looking forward to the spring & summer events, any ideas or volunteers to organize an event, please contact the Officers or volunteer chairs. We will run the TimberRattlers tailgate this summer and possibly a Brewer Bus.

FRIENDS OF FOXES REWARDS program benefi ts the existing members and builds the membership of our club with new members to enjoy and benefi t from organized group rate discount ski trips, other club sponsored func-tions and most of all the camaraderie.

“FRIENDS OF FOXES REWARDS” awards present Sly Fox Ski Club Members with 10 points (or $10 towards Sly Fox Ski Club sponsored functions) for all First Time New Members they referred, when they join the club.

To receive FOX POINTS, the New Member must document the referring member on their Membership Form when joining the club.

The FOX POINTS can accumulate during the one ski season that they have been earned and can be used towards club trips, renewal of their present membership dues, Spring and Christmas Holiday banquets.

The FOX POINTS must be used by the end of the season on or before April 30th and cannot be carried over to the following year.

The First Time New Member joining the club may not be a spouse of a present member, a past member of the club, renewal membership or a club with reciprocity.

FOX POINTS are not transferable to another member.

The new and present members must be a minimum of 21 years of age.

The FOX POINTS will be documented by the Treasurer when the New Membership Form with payment received.

Our most popular bus trip for the last few years still, takes to the road once again. Boyne Highlands in lower Michigan offers 54 well groomed runs, beautiful scenery and 10 lifts including a high-speed quad. Skiers of all ability will enjoy this Mountain.
