La concienciación ecológica es el objetivo de la exposición El Árti-co se rompe, con espectaculares imágenes de Andoni Canela que a buen seguro harán reflexionar a los visitantes. Raising ecological awareness is the objective of the exhibition El Ártico se rompe (The Arctic is breaking), with spectacular images from Andoni Canela which will, without doubt, make its visitors think.

Hace ahora exactamente un siglo tuvo lugar uno de los descubrimientos ar-queológicos que cambiaron el rumbo de la Historia: el hallazgo del busto de la hermosa Nefertiti. A modo de homenaje, una exposición repasa el expolio de la riqueza egipcia y las desventuras de sus monumentos en Occidente. Exactly a century ago, one of the archaeological discoveries which changed the course of history was made: the unearthing of the bust of the beauty Nefertiti. ¿Cuál es la singularidad de Sitges? La interactividad con su público y no conformarse con un modelo estático.Dicen que es el mejor festival de cine fantástico del mundo pero…, ¿es eso cierto? Es el pionero en un tipo de concepción del fantástico muy revolucionaria, que ha sabido abrirse a campos afi-nes como la animación o el cine de autor, e incluso al documental híbrido. Y eso lo ha convertido en un modelo para otros festivales.¿Qué películas recomendarías a quien se acercase a ver esta edición? Hemos ya anunciado grandes títulos muy esperados, como lo último de Winding Refn o Jarmusch. A mí me encanta The Congress, de Ari Folman; pero en cualquier caso, toda la pro-gramación será muy rica y variada.

What’s unique about Sitges? The interactivity with its public and not settling with a static model. They say that it is the best fantasy film festival in the world... but, is that really true? It is the pioneer in a type of revolutionary fantasy conception, which has been known to appear in fields as-sociated with animation and cinema d’auteur, and even the hybrid documentary. This has made it become a model for other festivals.Which films would you recommend to someone attending this year’s festival? We have already announced long awaited titles, such as the latest from Winding Refn and Jarmusch. Person-ally, I love The Congress from Ari Folman, but in any case, all the programming will be rich and varied.

Inolvidable retratista de la luz mediterránea, Joa-quín Sorolla nació en Valencia hace 150 años. Por este motivo, la ciudad ha diseñado una serie de exposiciones destinadas a conmemorar la efemé-ride. Entre ellas, la creación del Gabinete Sorolla, un lugar donde estudiar aspectos poco conocidos de su proceso creativo. El espacio se inaugura con ¡Triste herencia!, obra en la que retrató a niños inválidos en la playa. Una posibilidad para acer-carnos un poco más a la sensibilidad del genio. The unforgettable portrait painter with a Medi-terranean light, Joaquín Sorolla, was born in Va-lencia 150 years ago. For this reason, the city has designed a series of exhibitions to commemorate the anniversary. Amongst them, the creation of the Gabinete Sorolla (Sorolla Gallery), a place to study little known aspects of his creative process. The space will open with ¡Triste herencia! − a work which depicts disabled children on the beach. An opportunity to get a little closer to the sensitivity of the genius.

The Canary Islands live not only of the ocean. When an island is a Biosphere Reserve, it is one in earth, sea and air. To get closer to the sky is what the participants of the International Paragliding Rally 2013 will do, while those looking up from the ground envy them.

El musgo, la piedra y el agua componen el extraordi-nario paisaje de Es Valencians, en la gran playa de Mig-jorn, la más larga de Formentera. Durante el otoño, el lugar es escenario de buena parte de la actividad de-portiva local, como el Triatlón del 28 de septiembre, el Marnatón (maratón de natación) del 5 de octubre, o la Vuelta a Pie, una semana más tarde. Pero además, la pasarela de madera que atraviesa los 8 kilómetros de playa, es un sitio perfecto para el running o la Marcha Nórdica, una de las modalidades atléticas más practica-das en la menor de las Islas Pitiusas.

Yet in addition, the wooden walkway which crosses the 8 kilometres of beach is a perfect site for running or Nordic walking, one of the most highly practised sports on the smallest of the Pityusic Islands. .
