The goal was to revolutionise automotive design. To realise it, we came to the country that created the automobile. A new philosophy of design. The Hyundai studio set out to give the i30 unmistakable characteristics, evolved from the award–winning ix35, Sonata and Elantra. Guiding the team was a bold Hyundai design language called Fluidic Sculpture. Inspired by the flow and form of nature, this concept defined each stage of development.

Greater efficiency has never been so rewarding. From the start, the i30 was designed to raise the bar of fuel economy and efficiency. Our 1.6 litre engines reduce CO2 emissions to only 152 g/km, while delivering outstanding power and acceleration.

6-SpEEd MaNuaL traNSMISSION

Available with both i30 engines, our 6–speed manual delivers incredibly precise gear changes and a smooth, confident feel. To further improve fuel economy and reduce CO2 emissions, the eco shift indicator on the dashboard signals the ideal moment to shift.

6-SpEEd autOMatIC traNSMISSION

This unique 6-speed automatic transmission is Hyundai original and features fewer parts and less weight than it’s predecessors, making it less likely to experience mechanical failure. The modern manumatic technology delivers a sportier and more fuel-efficient all-round shifting experience.

SAFETY COMES STANDARD

When it comes to protection, the i30 never compromises. From the start, the i30 was designed to lead its category in occupant safety. At the centre stands a 6–airbag system able to surround every occupant in the event of a collision. A combination of front, side, and curtain airbags protects the front and rear passengers.

SAFETY FEATURES

The new i30 comes standard with highly advanced features. From Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), which provides maximum braking force when a panic stop is detected, and Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD), which automatically adjusts the braking force to front and rear axles based on the vehicles loading conditions, to doors that lock automatically at 15km/h, when it comes to safety the new i30 is a cut above the rest.

ELECTRIC MIRRORS

To maximise visibility, the i30 driver can quickly and easily adjust the electronically controlled side mirrors with the touch of a button, while the bright LED indicators increase safety when turning or changing lanes.

ELECTRONIC STABILITY PROGRAM

ESP continuously monitors vehicle directional stability and tyre traction. If the system senses the car is about to skid and risks spinning out of control, ESP automatically intervenes applying the brakes over individual wheels to prevent loss of directional control. VSM (Vehicle Stability Management) comes with ESP, which helps the vehicle maintain directional stability when suddenly braking or rapidly accelerating under asymmetric (wet/dry) road surface conditions where traction among the four tires can suddenly become uneven.

PARK ASSIST

Colour-coded sensors are discreetly mounted on the rear bumper to enhance safety by sounding an audible alarm when an obstacle is detected in reverse gear.
