Dental ImplantsWe Love Implants! One of our specialties are dental implant cases! Please send them our way and we will be sure to take care of you!

Understanding Reliable Dental Lab requests that each implant case has the following parts provided and information: 1) Impression post 2) Analogues 3) Working Abutment

• Our lab has to know the implant size and the system.

• If all implants parts are not with the case upon arrival to the dental lab the case will not enter production until all parts are present in the lab.

• When a case question arises, the case is taken out of production which slows the production down on that particular case.

Impressions

What is considered a good impression?

Page 12: New Hire Doctors 2016 (1)

ImpressionsThe Perfect ImpressionThe perfect impression is the first step toward a successful prosthesis.

We request a separate bite registration with each case. This will reduce bite, articulation, and occlusion issues.

A triple tray is NOT an adequate bite registration, and not idea for bridgework. The guidelines below will lead to a GOOD Impression.

Page 13: New Hire Doctors 2016 (1)

ImpressionsThe Perfect Impression• Uniform, homogeneous mix of impression material.• Tray is sufficiently filled with impression material• Rigid, sturdy impression tray • No voids or pulls on margin detail• Detailed margins with no tears or rough surfaces• Tray should not be seen through the impression material.• Good blend between heavy body and light body materials.• Strong bond between impression material and tray• No tooth contact with the tray

ImpressionsMoving Forward with Bad Impressions

Fitting issues for prep and patient bit through impression

Margins are unclear and there is excessive material

The majority of the time when we are asked to move forward with cases like this they do not seat.

Page 15: New Hire Doctors 2016 (1)

ImpressionsMoving Forward with Bad Impressions The lab does not ask for a new impression unless we truly believe that your case will not be successful using the information that was provided.

Something else to keep in mind, if adjustments are made with a high speed it creates small fractures in the porcelain which will cause chipping that may not be visible at the time. A slow speed hand piece keeps the temperature low which protects the product from We have received cases up to a year later where the porcelain has fractured due to the original small fracture that was created during an adjustment prior to seat.

Patients cannot bite down on an IPS. emax crown or any metal free product until it has been cemented. IPS. emax gets its strength from cementation in the mouth prior to that it is very fragile.

BridgeworkBest PracticesA full arch impression is needed when fabricating every bridge. The reason behind this request is that all information in the mouth must be captured in order to cast a stable bridge.

Bite registration and articulation can’t be established based off of a triple tray impression. We must confirm the bite and evenly distribute the amount of force for a proper bridge.

As a team we both need to be aware of what works best in the mouth. This limits information needed at the time of model work, which typically causes rocking, high & low occlusion. The units on a bridge must be taken into careful consideration.

It is our standard to provide a metal try in on 4 units or more. We understand that time is of the essence but doing so prevents mishaps such as rocking, occlusion, and marginal issues.
