Will be delivered as a public private partnership (PPP) to deliver high quality, efficient, value-for-money correctional services. Northern Pathways will be responsible for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the facility with ownership to be retained by the NSW Government.

3. PROJECT UPDATE
Westgate Bridge Strengthening Alliance, VIC
CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY
• The civil and site ancillary works on the New Grafton Correctional Centre (NGCC) are progressing to plan and program
• The main contractors compound is 80% complete and will be ready for full operation in January 2018
• The bulk earthworks and internal road networks are moving swiftly and in accordance with our staging plans
• The site environmental controls are 95% complete with all five sediment basins fully functional
• Our civil contractor (Ditchfield) has been progressing extremely well and advanced into the bulk earthworks and shaping of building platforms
• The deep site infrastructure contractor (Laser Electrical & Plumbing) has been busy installing underground services throughout the carpark areas and has just commenced installing underground services in Male Max
ADDITIONAL SERVICES WORKS – INFRASTRUCTURE NSW
• High voltage power
• Construction of new substations and supply lines (December 2019)
• Potable water
• Work anticipated to be complete by early 2018 (in consultation with Clarence Valley Council)
• Avenue Road upgrade

JOHN HOLLAND EXPERIENCE
Northwest Rail Link• At the Northwest Rail Link Project eight young indigenous men were successfully selected for a pre-employment
program that included the completion of a Certificate II in Resources – partnering with the Western Sydney Institute of TAFE in Mount Druitt
ICHTHYS Main Works (CVL-3)• The ICHTHYS Main Works Projects NT invested in a dedicated onsite training program for wages and salary workforce.• 78 employees completed qualifications• 18 participants cam through CVL-3’s Indigenous Employment Pre-employment training.• Qualifications were delivered with support from local RTOs

Pre-employment Program
We have engaged with North Coast Institute of TAFE in partnership with the Aboriginal Employment
Strategy to develop and deliver training. Participants will complete an iTradies Program which will be
delivered through:
• Nationally Recognised Units of Competency at a Certificate II or III level
• Industry Work Experience
• Health and Wellness Coaching
• Cultural Awareness and Guidance
• Life and Career Planning practices
JOB READY PROGRAM
• John Holland will partner with the Gurehlgam Corporation to provide hands on
training in Certificate II in Horticulture/Landscaping for Aboriginal youth local to the
project area to create Native Gardens.
• The goal is to provide participants with the skills and abilities appropriate to meet
the needs of the various sectors within the horticultural/landscaping industry. The
program will be designed to develop the Young Persons workplace and Job Ready
skills. This will include understanding industry and health and safety requirements,
and being able to participate in environmentally sustainable work

Project Training Target• 20% of the total project workforce participating in structured training
Apprentice Target• Apprentices must be employed to undertake 20% of the trade work involved in the
contract
• This means there will be an apprentice for every four tradespeople

• Objective of the Project – NGCC demonstration pilot
• To work towards achieving the Infrastructure Skills Legacy Program Targets
• 20% of the total labour force of a project to be made up of ‘learning workers’ (defined as trainees and workers who need to update their qualifications to meet the needs of the infrastructure project )
• 20% of all trades positions on a project made up of apprentices
• double the number of women in trade related work (up from the NSW average of 1% to 2%)
