Standard Tri: 1.1km Lake Swim + Transition Run 1km

Sprint Distance Tri / Novice: 400mtr Lake swim + Transition Run 1km

(Duathlon – ignore this bit!)

You will be swimming in Ellingham Water Ski Lake. The likely water temperature is 17 degrees C. For Safety reasons

Wetsuits are compulsory for the swim section.

The swim will start in the water, access is via the slipway in front of the Club Hut. You must be present for your

Race Briefing at the swim holding area in front of the Club Hut, at 6.45AM.

The swim is a clockwise circuit of the lake for the Standard Tri & a short separately marked 400m loop for the

Sprint. The courses will be clearly marked with different marker Buoys. There will be a number of Rescue Canoes

and a Safety Boat. If you get into difficulty during the swim turn onto your back and raise one arm in the air,

assistance will come to you.

On exiting the swim via the slipway follow the matted path up to the “Shoe Area”. Wetsuits can be bagged & left

for collection by us or worn/carried to Transition at the school. (bags provided)

Competitors are reminded that no inland waterways in Britain are considered safe for swimming. Do not swim if

you feel unwell or are recovering from a virus or infection. In the event of illness after swimming, medical advice

and treatment should be sought from your GP.

Both events will have mass starts a couple of minutes apart from 7am

There is a 1km Transition Run from Ellingham

Water Ski lake to Moyles Court School along Ellingham Drove

Running shoes can be left at the swim exit and wetsuits along

with swim hats / goggles etc can be bagged for collection by us or

worn to Transition at Moyles Court School. (bags provided)

There will be a swim cut-off of 40minutes for the Standard Tri & 15minutes

for the Sprint/Novice – participants in danger of not finishing in this time

will be collected by the safety boat to enable them to continue onto the

bike section minus a swim time.

Furthermore to avoid the possible spread of weed between

bodies of water, athletes should always ensure that their

wetsuits are rinsed thoroughly between swims at different venues.

narrow lanes!!!
