Essentially an air source heat pump unit is like your fridge at home, but absorbing heat (free renewable energy) from the ambient outside air. Refrigerant is used as a media to absorb and transfer energy from outside to inside for central heating and/or domestic hot water.

LT system: The most popular and versatile system is the low/medium temperature Split Classic. The system consists of 2 main parts - an outdoor heat pump and indoor wall mounted ‘hydro-box’ and can achieve temperatures up to 55°C without additional back up heater. Available in 6 capacities single phase and three phase, for heating and hot water. There are 3 cylinder sizes available.

There is a Daikin Altherma system for any application, the integrated medium temperature system connects to the floor mounted hydro-box boiler, unlike the classic split which connects to a wall mounted hydro-box.

Integrated System: The Daikin Altherma integrated system is capable of water temperatures up to 60°C. The system consists of 2 parts - an outdoor heat pump and indoor floor standing ‘hydro-box’ incorporating DHW storage cylinder and circulating pump. Available in 6 capacities single phase and three phase, for heating and hot water. There are 2 cylinder sizes available. Ideal for: All housing of any size both new build and retro-fit. Daikin Altherma systems are manufactured to the highest standards and achieve seasonal efficiencies of over 320% in the UK climate; i.e. for every 1kW of energy consumed 3.2kW of heat energy is available (heat from ambient + energy input).

HT System: The HT ‘high temperature’ system is capable of water temperatures up to 80°C using a cascade based refrigerant cycle. This specialist system is available in 3 capacities, single and three phase, for heating and hot water. 2 cylinder sizes available. Ideal for: Very large older residential properties or commercial applications such as hospitals, schools and restaurants, where higher water temperatures are needed for constant sanitation.

FLEX system: The Daikin Altherma Flex system is able to efficiently heat water temperatures up to 80°C, with remarkable efficiency (COP’s up to 3.5) because of its ability to recover the heat stored in the outdoor air. The outdoor unit extracts the heat from the outdoor air, raises the temperature and transfer the heat to the individual indoor units. Multiple outdoor units can be installed for larger applications. There are 2 cylinder sizes available.

Ideal for: Apartment buildings - large houses, flats, housing association blocks and collective housing.

Can connect to: Radiators, under floor, convector units, dhw storage cylinder & solar panels.

The Daikin VRVIII is a highly efficient and flexible solution that provides a single point of contact for the design and maintenance of integrated climate control. An air to air based commercial system, with free hot water production.

Daikin VRVIII Total Solution

VRVIII TS system: Utilising the heat recovery approach for a year round solution. When outside temperatures are 0°C or lower interior spaces will still need to be cooled, where people & equipment generate heat. The heat is recovered to produce hot water or to heat spaces that are below optimal temperature.
