UV RAYS ASSAULT THE EYES 365 DAYS A YEAREveryone knows UV rays are extremely harmful on sunny days, yet they reach our eyes 365 days a year, even in cloudy weather. We get more than 40% of UV exposure when we are not in full sunlight.

UV LIGHT IS A MAJOR HAZARD TO THE EYEUV light has a direct and cumulative impact on eye health, accelerating eye ageing and the appearance of cataracts. It is estimated that 20 million cataract surgeries are performed every year.

(1) UV cut by transmission: 1.5 index cuts 95%UV, UHI indexes cuts 100% UV.(2) % of total UV exposure received by eye without any protection. Up to 50% depending on lenses and fitting parameters.

All clear lens materials cut between 95%(1) to 100% of UV rays passing through the front of the lens.

All current AR lenses show high reflection of UV into the eyes. Measurements have found that UV reflected from back surface account for 10 to 50%(2) of total exposure.

New Crizal Forte UV raises clear lens UV protection to a new level, also protecting against UV reflections off the back surface of the lens.
