completed by SPV PT Bosowa Makassar at a costof about $250mn with China’s Chengda acting aslead EPC contractor. Bosowa has a 200-MW PPA
with PLN for the Phase-I plant at US 5.5 cents/kWhexcluding fuel costs. The project took only 19mos to
complete according to the owner, a substantialimprovement over the original 30mo schedule.

Quick facts: This power station is associated withthe largest single-site coal mine in the southern
hemishpere. This is located in Tabalong andBalangan districts. Annual production is on the
order of 40mn typy of ultra low-sulfur, moderate CV
subbituminous coal. The new thermal plant willreplace a 20-MW diesel plant. Electricity will beused to power the converyor system and other
mine and handling infrastructure as well as the localgrid. The development company is Adaro subsidiaryPT Makmur Sejahtera Wisesa (MSW). The projectcost about $160mn. Fuel burn is expected to be
about 300,000 tpy.
