CEHI Confinement Time Limits:Prenatal confinement is unlimited with required documentation provided by a medical practitioner.
Postpartum confinement is limited to six weeks from delivery date or a maximum of ten weeks if a medical practitioner provides required documentation.
Pregnancy education and parenting
PEP Program referrals may be made through a student’s:
PEP programs serve students who are at risk of dropping out of school because they are pregnant and/or are parents.
Services include, but are not limited to, educational support, child development, parenting and home and family living skills, individual and career counseling, self-help programs, job-readiness training, transportation, child care (first child only), case management and assistance obtaining government and community services.
PEP programs offer integrated programs of educational and support services designed to improve school attendance, increase high school graduation rates and enhance parenting skills for students who are parents or pregnant.
PRS provides support services to a student during pregnancy prenatal and postpartum periods., including Compensatory Home Instruction (CEHI). The programs are designed to help students adjust academically, mentally, and physically to the demands of parenthood. They also increase a student’s opportunity to graduate.

Compensatory education home instruction (cehi)CEHI is the support service component in the PRS program. CEHI provides academic services to the student at home or hospital (should it be a medical necessity), during the pregnancy prenatal or postpartum periods that prevent the student from attending classes on campus. CEHI consists of face-to-face contact with a certified teacher who provide academic services to the student.
