1. DrillDrill to clear out the damaged
thread (if necessary).
2. TapThread insert tap supplied. Tap
thread should match up with bolt.
3. InstallWind insert in with light downwardpressure until 1/4 to 1/2 turn belowthe surface, driving tang towards
the bottom of the hole.
4. Remove TangRemove tool and sit back on top oftang. Tap down sharply. Do not tryto twist tang off. For sparkplug andlarge fine thread inserts, use long
nose pliers and pull tang out.

How a ValueCoilTM Insert WorksValueCoilTM inserts are rolled from high quality stainlesssteel wire with a diamond shaped cross section,woundto the shape of a spring thread.Once the wire is woundinto a helical coil and installed into a tapped hole, itprovides a permanent and wear resistant thread in theparent material that is generally stronger than the originalthread.The inserts are designed to be greater indiameter than the tapped hole and compress as they areinstalled. This allows maximum surface contact area withthe tapped thread, safely and permanently anchoring theinserts into place.
