    FTAs during the Month of December2011 was 7.15 lakh as compared toFTAs of 6.80 lakh during the month of

    December 2010 and 6.16 lakh inDecember 2009.

    There has been a growth of 5.2% inDecember 2011 over December 2010 ascompared to a growth of 10.4%

    registered in December 2010 over

    is higher than 4.7% growth rate observed inNovember, 2011.

    FTAs in India during 2011 were 6.29 millionwith a growth of 8.9%, as compared to theFTAs of 5.78 million with a growth of 11.8%during the year 2010 over 2009.

    The growth rate of 8.9% in 2011 for India isbetter than UNWTOs projected growth rateof 4% to 5% for the world in 2011 and 7% to

    9% for Asia and the Pacific.

    FEEs

    FEE in US$ terms during the month ofDecember 2011 were US$ 1688 millionas compared to FEE of US$ 1558 millionduring the month of December 2010 andUS$ 1510 million in December 2009.

    The growth rate in FEE in US$ terms inDecember 2011 over December 2010was 8.3 %, as compared to the growth of3.2% in December 2010 over December

    2009.

    In terms of the number of worldheritage sites, India ranks 7th in theworld.

    Yet, in the global travel & tourismcompetitiveness index, it ranks 68thamong 139 countries surveyed by the

    World Economic Forum. In 2011.Incredible India slipped six

    two years. It was 62nd in 2009.
