biggerroleinthisprofession.
Whatexactlyis3Dlaserscanning?
Usingthistechnique,youmakea
digitisedmodelofanobject,
forexampleabuildingormachine.
The3Dscannerconsistsoftwo
maincomponents:thelaseranda
camera.Thelaserregistersmillions
ofpointsina360degreearc
alongitshorizontalandvertical
axis,thuscreatingapointcloud.
Subsequently,usingthepictures
thatthecameramakes,eachpoint
isgivenacolour.Thisensuresthe
creationofacolourfastimage.
Thesedatacanthenbeprocessed
indifferentCADprograms.
Afterextensivepreliminary
investigation,Convoioptedfor
a3DscanneroftheFarobrand.
Faroisactiveallovertheglobe
inthemarketof3Dmeasuring
technologyandbythatalsoin
3Dlaserscanning.
ThereasonforusfavouringFaro
overotherbrandslikeLeica,
hastodowiththeuser
friendlinessandrelativelyfastdata
processingofthisscanner.
Ourscanner,theFocus3DX130,
isasmall,compactscannerwith
aweightofjust5kilogrammes.
Atthemoment,thisisthesmallest
andlightestscanneronthemarket.
Therefore,itisidealtobring
alongtotheworkfield.Ontopof
that,thishandymodelallowsfor
scanninginhardtoreachplaces
aswell.
Thescannerhasarangefrom0,6
to130metreswithanaccuracy
uptoapproximately2millimetres.
Thebuilt-inlasercorrespondsto
class1.Thismeansthatthelaser
iseye-safeunderallcircumstances.
Thescannerisabletoregister
976,000pointspersecondandhas
a70megapixelcamerathatcreates
crystalclearimages.
Currently,wearestillinthe
processofdeterminingwherethe
3Dscannercanbeofahighest
possibleaddedvalueforus.
Wehavealreadyemployedthe
scanneronmultipleoccasions
inordertogainabetter
understandingofthepossibilities
ofthedevice.Anexampleofthis
isduringtheworkactivitiesrelated
tothehighvoltageswitchstation
ofgridoperatorEnexis(seefigure).
Besidesforaccuratemeasuring,
onecanthinkofotheruses,
suchastheextensivedocumentation
foraclient,atoolforchecking
duringone-on-onetransfer,
orthesimulationoffuturework
situationsforoptimalpreparation
andtraining.
Thepossibilitiesareverydiverse
andextensive.Inthefuture,
wewillincreasinglyoftenencounter
thistechnique.ForConvoi,itisnot
justanextraserviceforourclients,
butalsoawayofimprovingthe
qualityofourservices.

startingupallactivitiesagain.Theperiodof
bankruptcyandthestartingupofthenew
organisationbroughtafairamountofchallenges
along,suchas:

• Retentionofclients
• Profitability
• Settingupoperationalsystems,suchas
projectchecks,purchase,calculationetc.

Asecondpointoffocuswasthesynergywith
ConvoiRelocations.
RELAUNCHOFCONVOIE&AWiththetakeoverbyConvoitheemployment
ofeightystaffmembershasbeenretained.
Morethanthat,now,afterayear’stime,
onceagainmorethanonehundredemployees
workatConvoiE&A.ConvoiE&Amanaged
tokeepallitsclients,althoughapartofthe
potentialcontractswasgiventocompetitors
inthefirstperiodafterthebankruptcybecause
ofatoolongperiodofuncertaintyforour
clients.ApartfromtheassurancethatConvoi
gaveourclientswithregardstothecontinuity
ofthecompany,itturnedoutthatthetrustin
ourstaffmemberswasparamountinkeeping
ourclientbase.Importantisalsothat,
inspiteofthefactthatthefinancialprocessing
ofvariousprojectsledtosomelosses,
ConvoiE&Awasprofitabledirectlyfromthe
startandthatwaypositivelycontributesto
Convoi’sresults.Settinguptheoperational
systems,suchasMetacomandActo,wasan
arduousjob.Ittookalotofeffort,butinthe
endwemanagedtostayupandrunningwithout
toomuchproblems.Inthecomingperiod,these

inacquiringnewclients,suchas
SappiLanakenandSaintGobainin
Herzogenrath.Theco-operationwith
ConvoiRelocationshasopenednew
marketsaswell.Itdidnotonlybring
usnewclients,butalsoopenedup
extrapossibilitiesforexistingclients,
likeSekisui(transferofaproduction
linefromWalestoRoermond)and
Enexis(Maastricht-Wittevrouwenveld).
Theyear2017willmainlyrevolve
aroundthefurtherstrengthening
ofourorganisationinthefieldsof
knowledgeandskills,especially
there,wherewewishtosetourselves
apartfromourcompetitors.Wewant
toexpandConvoiE&A’sservicesto

thatConvoiE&Acanbeofadded
valueforConvoiRelocations,but
alsothattheoppositeisthecase
aswell.TheexpertiseofRelocations
hasproventobeofgreatimportance
intheaforementioned–andother–
projectsofConvoiE&A.However,
thepossibilitiestoexecutejoint
projectsaresignificantlybigger.
Thedistinctivecapabilityliesnotin
theprimarymovingactivitieslike
thelayingandconnectingofcables
andcabletrays.Itistheactivities
inwhichthemainfocusison
performingtheactivitiesasefficiently
andcheaplypossible.Inthis,Convoi
Relocationsexcels,meaningConvoi
E&Aisonlyoflimitedadditionalvalue

newproductionline/ovenhasbeenplacedforthe
manufacturingofwindowsfortheautomotiveindustryat
thefinalclientSaintGobaininHerzogenrath.Theproject
concernedanintegralco-operationbetweenConvoiE&A
andIndustrialRelocations.Thecompleteproductionline
wasinstalledandcommissionedwithinatimeframeof
about8weeks.
Enexistransport,replacinga50kVinstallationatstation
Limmel,Maastricht.
Ourmenfrom“energytechnology”areworkingona
projectinco-operationwithEnexisattheswitchstation
LimmelinMaastricht.Acomplexproject,becausethenew
installationisbeingbuiltdirectlyunderneathlivehigh-
voltagelines(50.000Volts).Here,Convoiperformsthe
totalconstructionofthenewstation,includingsupplying
specificallyrequiredequipmentandswitchpanels.
Atthemoment,ConvoiIndustrialRelocationshas
scannedtheentireinstallationusingitsown3Dscan/
modellingequipment,whichensuresoptimalpreparation.

SinceMay2016,ConvoiE&Ahasacentralpanelassembly,
specialisedinpowerdistributors(upto4000Ampere),
controlpanelsandpanelsformanagingofawiderange
ofinstallations.Thedepartmentcanperformallnecessary
tests,inaccordancewithcurrentinternationalcriteria.
NewstorageandtranshipmentforViteliainWanssum.
Viteliaisamanufacturerofdifferenttypesofanimalfeed.
Thecompanyisbuildinganewstorageandtranshipment
forresourcesforitsfactories.Thismakesitpossiblefor
largequantitiesofresourcestobedeliveredoverwater.
Asaresultofthis,Viteliaensuresagreaterflexibilityand
alowercostprice.Apartfromthat,itisbetterforthe
environment,sincetransportbyroadisreduced.

newstate-of-the-artradiotherapymachine,theMRLinactoTheNetherlands
CancerInstitute,AmsterdamandTheRoyalMarsdenHospitalinSutton.
Deliveryofbothsystemswasplannedfor2016.
TheinstallationintheUKwasthefirstofitskind.Deliverypreparationbegan
inDecember2015.Agianthole,largeenoughtofit24doubledeckerbuses,
hadbeenexcavatedatTheRoyalMarsdeninSuttontoaccommodatethe
stateoftheartsystem.
InordertomeettherequirementsofbothourcustomerandtheHospital,
whilstestablishingasafeandefficientmethodofdelivery,therewerea
numberofsitevisitsandpre-deliverymeetingswithgreatattentionpaidto
thefinerdetailsofeachdelivery.Theprojectwasplannedtobeexecuted
overaminimumof7phases,eachphasebringinganothersectionofthe
systemtositeandmakingsureitwassafelytransportedanddeliveredtothe
finaldestination.
Thelargeitemsweredeliveredinto
thebunkerbycraneviaapurpose
builtskylight;allotheritemsthat
couldbedeliveredonwheelswere
deliveredviaanalternativeentrance
over200metersfromthefinal
destination(theentireroutehadto
beprotectedduringeachphaseof
thedelivery).
Therewereanumberofchallenges
thatrequiredcarefulconsideration
andattentiontodetail.Thecrane
wastobesituateddirectlyoverthe
theatersthereforeexactoutrigger
loadingandcranepositioningwas
crucial;theskylightwhichwasdesignedtoallowdelivery
ofthelargerequipmentdidnotprovidethenecessary
spacefortheliftingframeofthestaticring;theinternal
deliveryroutehadheightrestrictionswhichprevented
someoftheitemsbeingtransportedalongthatparticular
route.Inadditiontotheseissues,wewereonlyable
todelivereachphaseonSaturdaysduetorestrictions
onworkingtimesimposedbylocalresidentsandthe
Hospital.
Theliftingdrawingswererevisednumeroustimesto
addextralayersofdetailinordertoshowtheexact
liftsofeachandeveryitemthathadtobehoisted.
Onceallpartiesweresatisfiedthatwehadcovered
asmuchaspossibleinourRAMSandliftingplanswe
wereeventuallysettowork.Throughthededication
andenthusiasmofagreatteamofmenfromboththe
NetherlandsandtheUK,eachphasewascarriedout
inahighlyprofessionalmanner,notonlymeetingthe
customersexpectationsbutexceedingthemduetothe
abilitytoadaptquicklytochangingcircumstances.
TheprojectbeganwiththefirstphaseinMay2016and
thefinalphase(9)wasdeliveredinOctober2016.

Spacesaverforkliftsareforkliftswithashortrearside,
whichmakesthemmuchmoremanoeuvrable.
Itoftenhappensthatonprojectlocationsonly
minimalroomisfreeformanoeuvring,whilestilla
heavyweighingunitneedstobemovedorinstalled.
Anadditionalreasonisthat7tonnesSpacesaver
forkliftsarehardtofindifyouneedtorentit,which
iswhyConvoidecidedtoaddthesemachinestoits
ownfleet.
Another,morespecial,investmentisthenewlift
systemoftheGreinerbrand.Increasinglytheneed
tocalluponthemaximumcapacitiesofthecurrent
liftsystemsisseen.Inordertohavemorehoisting
capacityfromnowon,Convoiinvestedinaunique
620tonnesXLliftsystem.
Thenewsystemiscomparabletothe620tonnes
systemthatConvoialreadyowns,buttheXLhasa
biggercylinderintheprops,asaresultofwhicha
higherhoistingheightandcapacitycanbeachieved.
Todrawacomparison:theoldsystemhasacapacity
of75tonnesperpropataheightof10,877mm.
Thenewsystemhasacapacityof75tonnesperprop
ataheightof12,345mm.Asignificantdifferencethat
makesitpossibleforConvoitoacceptevenmore
complexliftingcontractsinthefuture.
Thereisonedrawbacktothenewsystem.
Becauseofthebiggercylinder,theliftsystemistaller
thantheoldsystem.Asaresultofthis,itcannotbe
transportedonanormaltrailerorsemitrailer
(h=900mm),butitneedstobetransportedon
aflatbed(h=300mm).Thisresults,ofcourse,
inhighertransportationcosts.Inordertosolvethis,
aspecialframeandtiltingtraversingmechanismhas
beendevelopedtobeabletotilttheprops,sothat
theycanbetransportedinahorizontalposition.
Whenthepropsareplacedhorizontally,theycan
betransportedonanormaltrailer,resultingina
significantlytransportcostssaving.
MidSeptemberConvoireceivedthecontractfora
largeprojectinSwitzerland.Theprojectisofsucha
bigscopeandlargetimescalethat,inordertoavoid
cash-out,itwasdecidedtobuyalargepartofthe
necessaryequipmentratherthanrentingit.
ThisresultedinthepurchaseoftwoGroveGMK
5110-1cranesandtwoManitouMRT2150&Manitou
MT1840telescopichandlers.Thisequipmentwillbe
usedfrequentlyduringthenexttwoyearsonthe
projectsiteinLuterbach,Switzerland.
WORKCLOTHINGIthasbeensometimesinceConvoi’sworkclothing
waslastrenewed.BecauseofthetakeoverofImtech,
thedemandfornewworkclothingkeptongrowing.
Afteranintensivetenderitwasdecidedtomaketwo
typesofclothingsetsavailable–theregularclothing
inConvoicolours,andflame-retardantclothing.
Theregularclothingismeantforstaffmembersof
ConvoiNederland,ConvoiInternational,ConvoiSRO
andConvoiCH.Forstaffmembersofthesebusiness
unitstheflame-retardantclothingisavailableupon
requestforproject-specificuse.

StaffmembersofConvoiE&Ahaveflame-retardant
clothingbydefault,sincetheyworkonsiteswherethis
clothingisaprerequisite.
Withinshorttime,itwillbepossibletoorderclothing,
usinganonlineprogram,developedbytheclothing
supplier.Thisway,everybranchbyitselfcanprovide
employeeswithnewclothing.
STORAGEAllequipmentwithintheConvoiorganisationis
currentlyplacedunderonecompanyname,namely
ConvoiAssetsBV.Thisbusinessunitrentsoutorleases
theequipmenttootherbusinessunits.
Thismergerandthefrequentad-hocpreparingof
projectsincreasesthedemandforequipmentinthe
WarehouseatMaastricht-Airport.TheWarehouse
suppliesthebulkoftheprojectsbothinthe
Netherlandsaswellasabroadwithequipment.
Besidesthat,Convoitookoverabranchofthe
bankruptImtechinSeptember2015.Abranchwhichis
activeonaregionallevelandperiodicallyrequiresextra
equipmentforprojects.
Inordertofillintheincreaseddemandforequipment,
theWarehousehasbeenenlargedbytheconstruction
ofanextrafloor.Besidesthat,onthefirstandsecond
floorshelveracksindifferentdepthshavebeen
installedforthestorageofvariousequipment.During
thisinstallation,alltheequipmentwasassigneda
standardstoragelocation.Atthismomentanupdate
istakingplace.Withthisupdateitwillbecome
possibletoassigntheequipmenttoalocationthatis
connectedtoacode,sothatwiththehelpofhand-
heldcommunicatorsthesupplycanbemaintainedand
everyweekanordercanbereceivedofallequipment
thatneedstobeordered.Apartfromthat,anautomatic
chargingoftheequipmentandconsumablestothe
projectstakesplace.Naturally,welookforwardto
thechangesthatthefuturewillbring.

unannounced,togetherwiththelinemanager.Theline

supportforthisfromtheQSHEmanager.
TheupcomingmonthsI,beingQSHEmanager,will
performanewsurveyonaninternalclientlevelofthe
expectationsinthisfield.Theresultswillbecompiled
andtakenintoaccountinournewpolicythathas
yettobemade.Iwillalsoworkmoreintensively
withexternalspecialists,likeauditorsofcertifying
institutionsandthe‘Sicherheitsfachkraft’inGermany.
Asforthecertifications(seetable):Overthecourseof
2017thecompaniesthatarementionedinthetable
willbecertified.In2018,ISO9001andISO14001will
beauditedinatotallynewway.In2017,westart
withthepreparationssothatwecanadapttothese
newstandards.Whatisalsonew,isthatoverthe
courseof2017achangeovertoaso-called‘MultiSite
Certificering’(MultiSiteCertification)willtakeplace.
Thismeansthatjustonecertifyinginstitutionwill
performallauditsforallConvoibranches.

transfertoatemporarystoragefacility
60kilometresfromHomburg,packing,
transfertoNanjing(China),one-on-one
assemblyinNanjing,replacementofthe
oldwiringbynewwiringandsupport
duringthecommissioning.
Thetotalweightofthelineis+/-500
tonnes.Ofthis,theso-calledPressbody
hasaweightof180tonnes.Furthermore
thereare1440ft.seashipping
containersand15breakbulkparts.The
newwiringhadalengthof6500metres.
Therequiredequipmentconsistedof:
• 16forklifts;
• a620Tliftsystem;
• aspecialtowingvehicle
(totowthepressoutofthehall);
• heavytransport
(33.5metresinlength);
• a350Tanda500Tmobilecrane;
• afloatingcraneintheharbour
ofShanghai;

atTKECC(ThyssenKruppEngine
Components),about300kilometres
fromShanghai.Nanjingisacitywith9
millioninhabitants.Thisprojectwasa
hugechallengeinwhichallfacetsofour
businesscametogether.Itwasahuge
challengetoexecuteaprojectinChina,
butthatwasalsowhatmadeitvery
interesting.
Theassemblyactivitieswerecompleted
mid-November,2016.Thecommissioning
tookplaceinJanuary2017.
Iwanttothankalloperationalstaff
membersofthisproject.TheChinateam
hasdoneanexcellentjob!Together
withalocalpartnertheyfinishedthe
assemblyjobineightweeks,inspiteof
thebigculturaldifferences.

TheBioNanoscience(BN),ChemicalEngineering(ChemE),andBiotechnology(BT)FacultieswererelocatedfromtheirformeraccommodationinDelftandconsolidatedinthenewuniversitybuilding.Itwasaprecariousjob,consistingoftherelocationof6,800m3oflaboratoryinventory.Atthepeak,35staffmembersfromalldivisionsofConvoiwereworkinginDelft.
ForthecustomeritwasahugeadvantagethatConvoihasawiderangeofemployabilityinsuchaspecialisedrelocationproject.
Projectrelocation:Sevenself-managingteamsunderthedirectionofaprojectmanagercarriedouttherelocationofabout72laboratoriesand81departments.
Projectmanagement:Forthefullunburdeningofthecommissioner,about40internationalOEM’ers(OriginalEquipmentManufacturers)wereinvolved,plannedandmonitoredbytheprojectmanageraswell.
Dangerousgoods:Convoiclassified,unpackedandmovedabout23,000dangerousgoodspartsandchemicalsubstancesaccordingtoADRdirectives.
Inaddition,Convoirelocateddozensof-80degreefreezersundervoltage.
E&A:TwotothreeE&AmechanicsdidthedetachingofseveraltrialandotherinstallationsandtheirreconnectinginthenewbuildingfortheDelftTechnicalUniversityoveranumberofmonths.
ConvoigottheorderfromtheDelftTechnicalUniversitybya.o.thecomprehensiveactionplanandtheexploratorydiscussionswiththeprojectmanagerandforemanconcerned.
Duringtheexecutionoftheprojectconfidenceonlyfurtherincreased.Soonwereceivedcomplimentsfromourcommissioner,aswasmadeclearinane-mailwithcongratulatoryremarksforE&A.Also,theevaluationsshowthattheprojectgroupoftheTechnicalUniversityand,whatisevenmoreimportant,theusersarehighlysatisfied.
MID 2016, CONVOI RELOCATED THREE R&D FACULTIES OF DELFT
TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY TO A SINGLE NEW STATE OF THE ART BUILDING
COMPLEX. A LARGE PROJECT IN WHICH CONVOI HAS PROVEN,
AMONG OTHER THINGS, THAT IT IS ABLE TO CARRY OUT ALL ASPECTS
OF LABORATORY RELOCATION FLAWLESSLY.

challengebecausethemanipulationtookplaceinnarrow
spacesandduetotheworkingconditionsandlimitations
inusingtheportal.
TheprojectatMatadorwassimplerintermsoftechnical
implementation,sinceitwascarriedoutinanewbuilding,
whichhadsufficientspaceformanipulationandbecause
thepresseswerethefirstmachinestobeinstalled.
WeusedthenewGrainer620XLliftingsystemforthis
installation.

installationofeightpressesinPoland,
HungaryandSlovakia.
Onemonoblockandonetransfer
pressinPolandwerefortheGestamp
Company.Wetheninstalledone
monoblockandonetransferpressat
theMatadorplantinSlovakiaanda
furtherfourtransferpressesatAudi
inHungary.Eventswereplanned
throughouttheentireyearandincluded
theparticipationofmembersofthe
Slovak,GermanandDutchstaff.
Theentireprojectwasdemandingin
termsoflogistics,theleaddateswere
constantlychangingandotherprojects
involvingthecontinuedoperationof
theliftingsystemwerealsoinprogress.
Inaddition,themonoblockprojectin
Polandwasalsotechnicallydemanding,
sincetheblock’sdimensionswere5,550
x3,600x8,450mm(LxWxH)andthe
sizeofthefactoryentrancewasonly
4,500mm.Asaresult,thepresshadto
beturnedintoaverticalpositionin
frontoftheentranceinthehall.

Preparationsforthemovetothenew
DSMlaboratoryinDelftstartedas
farbackas2014,whenthebuilding
-Lab6-wasstillunderconstruction,
becausetheentireremovalproject
wasmeanttobedoneanddusted
inSeptember2015.Attheclient’s
request,JohnvanHeestookon
theon-siteprojectmanagement.
Workbeganbyinventoryingallthe
equipment,bulk,chemicalsand
officestoensurethatwecould
submitadetailed,customisedoffer.
Inparallelwiththesubstantive
preparations,wedevisedthesafety
plan,thelogisticsplans,themoving
instructions,thesubstantivekick-off
andthedetailedremovalschedule.
Todoso,weusedtheConvoiProject
PreparationProgram(PPP)and
MSproject.ThePPPprogramisa
softwarepackageConvoideveloped
in-housewhichallowsustodefine
installation-specificproperties,
toguaranteethevarioussteps
andtransfermomentswithinthe
relocationprocessandtoschedule
therelevantresources.Thisrelocation
booklet,togetherwiththetransfer
protocolsandthepreprintedstickers,
ensuresthateverythingproceedsin
thecorrectorder.
Developmentsanddelaysinthe
commissioningofthenewLab
6buildingmeantthattheactual
relocationhadtobepostponedfor
ayear.Needlesstosay,thatalso
hadanimpactontheitemsandthe
equipmenttobemoved.Maintenance
andtheloggingofchangesproceeded
asnormalduringthatyear.In
October2015,alltheOEMs(Original
EquipmentManufacturers),some30
ReinoldHofsink,MarkKoppenberg,JohnvanHeesandKarelKamp
ofthemintotal,werecontactedagain.Asa
resultofaninternalreviewoftheactivitiesby
DSM’sOEs(OperationalExperts),thescope
hadchangedwiththeresultthattheworkthe
OEMsweretocarryouthadalsochanged.
AfterhavingcontactedalltheOEMs,Convoi
assessedallthequotationsbeforediscussing
thetechnicalandmethodicalspecificationswith
theDSMpartiesconcerned(Maintenance,OE
andadministrators)andtailoringthemtothe
client’srequirements.Withallthei’sdottedand
t’scrossedroundaboutthesummerof2016,the
relocationcouldbegin.
Tomakeiteasierforthelaboratoryfurniture
supplierstohoistsomeofthemoreenormous
piecesthroughthevariousfacadeopenings,
Convoihadconstructedaplatformupagainstthe
facade.
Assoonasallthegroundworkhadbeendone,
anumberofforemenweredispatchedtoassist
theprojectteamandensurethateverything
wentaccordingtoscheduleandthelayoutof
thevariousroomswasadheredto.Inthenew
premises,oneroomwassetupasouroperational
basewherethedailyworkandperiodicaltoolbox
meetingswereheld.Inaddition,alsoadeskwas
setuptodealwithspecificcustomerqueries.
Duringkick-off,allnewmembersofstaffand
OEMsuppliersworkingontheprojectweretaken
throughthesafetyinstructions.Wealsokept
attendancerecordsandsawtoitthatthevarious
OEMsupplierswereissuedwithvisitors’passes.
Ourdesignatedrelocationdesk-whichcouldbe
contactedbyphoneande-mail-notonlyoversaw
thesupplyandcollectionofremovalmaterialsbut
evenprovidedpackingadviceandorganisedthe
transportofsmallerconsignments.
Sincethemovetookplaceduringtheautumn
of2016,ConvoiadvisedDSMtobuilda‘move
lock’betweenthelogisticexitoftheoldbuilding
andtheentrancetothenewbuildingtoensure
thatanythingearmarkedformoving,especially
highlysensitivelaboratoryequipment,wouldbe
protectedagainstrainandotheradverseweather
events.Thisbespokesolution,whichisoftenused
duringhospitalmoves,ensuredthattheentire
routeremaineddry.GiventherainfallinNovember,
thetent-lockconstructiondefinitelywasn’tan
unnecessaryluxury.
Duringtheheightofthemove,Lab6wasmilling
withpeople,for,asidefromthefourpermanent
membersoftheprojectteamandsometwenty
relocationstaffConvoihadassignedtotheproject,
alsothevariousOEMsuppliershadabouttwenty
peopleonsite.Thankstodaily,structureddialogue
betweentheDSMProjectTeam,Maintenance,the
department’sOE,Facilitiesandthefloor-walkers
(movecoordinators)everyonealwaysknewexactly
whatwasgoingonandabletotaketheright
decisions.
Itissafetosaythattherelocationwentto
ourprincipal’sentiresatisfaction.Onceagain
Convoiprovedthatproperimplementationand
preparation,combinedwithflexibilityandafocus
onthecustomer,arekeytoanexcellentresult.
Thesheersizeoftheproject,themannerinwhich
theprojectwasmanaged,thetechnicalcomplexity
ofthemove,theorganisationofthevariousOEM
suppliersandthephasedexecutionhaveprovided
uswithaglowingreferenceforfutureprojects.

thechemistrybetweenConvoi’sconstructionsitemanager
HolgerStorzandhisSwedishcounterpartsmuchbetter
thanexpecteditwasexcellentfromtheveryfirstdayon,
soweshouldbeabletosecureevenmoresubsequent
orders.Thedisassemblyofthefirstinjectionmoulding
machinesandproductionplantswasabigsuccess,which
enabledustohandoverthemachinesforproduction
intime,evenwiththereassemblyandstart-up,tothe
utmostsatisfactionofConvoi’sclient.Allfurthersteps
werecompletedbeforethedeadlineandultimately
Convoihadrealized72trucktransports,6ofwhichwith
extra-widesilos,at5differentSchneiderGrouplocations
inEurope.Duringpeaktimes,upto28Convoimechanics
fromtheConvoibranchesinNuremberg,Bratislava
andMaastrichtworkedontheprojectsinthedifferent
disassemblyandreassemblylocations!
InOctober2016Convoireceived,(thankstotheexcellent
performancebyallConvoimechanicsatConvoi’sclient
SchneiderElectric)anadditionalorderfortherelocation
ofproductionplantsfromStockholm/SwedentoRiga/
Latvia,andthisordertoowascarriedouttotheutmost
satisfaction.
