EVENT INFORMATION

As this event is being held under Alert Level 2 guidelines, please read this important

Information for Attendees and ensure you follow all instructions.

In order to ensure all Alert Level 2 government restrictions are followed, it is important that

you stick to your assemble / warm-up time as indicated in the Information for Attendees

document. Please do not show up early.

On arrival at the warm-up area you will collect your timing chip and race bib. You will also

be given a named and numbered bag that you can leave any belongings in at the start area.

All bags will be transferred to the finish area for you to collect once you have completed

your race. You will then be escorted into the start area where you can complete your warm-

up until your indicated start time. You will then be ready to race, good luck!

Once you have finished your race you will need to take your timing chip off your shoe and

put it in the buckets provided. If you have won a medal you will be asked to stand aside in

order to collect your medal. After you have completed your race and collected your medal

(if applicable) we ask that you leave the venue and warm down outside.

Please stay home and avoid attending the Athletics NZ Cross Country Challenge if you are:

o Unwell o A confirmed or probable case of COVID-19 o Waiting for a COVID-19 test result o Self-isolating

Course Availability: The course will be available for athletes to do a walk around on Friday

from 4pm – 6pm. Please practice 2m social distancing while out on the course during this

time. There will be no access to the course on Saturday apart from racing.

Carparking: There is plenty of carparking available at the venue and in the surrounding

streets.

Race Bib and Timing Chip collection: Race Bibs and Timing Chips will be collected by each

athlete individually from the warm-up area. There will be no centre team race pack

collection.

Team Tents: There will be no team tents for athlete use. Instead there will be three tents

along the course (warm-up area, start area, ceremonial area) that athletes can use for

shelter.

Team Events: Due to the uncertainty and restrictions around travel, we are aware that some

centres may not know who will be competing at the Athletics NZ Cross Country Challenge

from their centre until the day of the event. Therefore, we have changed the way the teams

events will be run to ensure a fair and enjoyable experience for all involved. Please see

details on how this teams events will run below:

• The first four people across the finish line will count towards a centre’s team points • Only athletes wearing a centre uniform (singlet only is okay) will count for team

points • Everyone entered as part of their centre will be eligible (if in centre uniform) for the

teams event, if they are one of the first four from their centre to cross the finish line

Note: We recommend that team managers bring some spare centre uniforms with them to

ensure that all athletes have the opportunity to be part of their centre team

Live Streaming: In keeping with best practice around the broadcasting of younger athletes,

we will only be live streaming Grade U16 events and above through the Sky Sport Next

YouTube channel.

Food and Refreshments: The café onsite will not be open, however there will be a coffee

van on site. There are plenty local cafes nearby to purchase any food and refreshments

from.

No running on or close to the greens. Please keep to the edge of the fairways.
