ThisisgoingtobeaverypracticalCourse.Therefore,Ihopethateveryoneinthisclass

hasaveryclearpictureofwhathedesires,forIamconvincedthatyoucanrealizeyour

desiresbythetechniqueyouwillreceiveherethisweekinthesefivelessons.

Thatyoumayreceivethefullbenefitoftheseinstructions,letmestatenowthattheBible

hasnoreferenceatalltoanypersonswhoeverexistedortoanyeventthateveroccurred

uponearth.

Theancientstorytellerswerenotwritinghistorybutanallegoricalpicturelessonof

certainbasicprincipleswhichtheyclothedinthegarbofhistory,andtheyadaptedthese

storiestothelimitedcapacityofamostuncriticalandcredulouspeople.

Throughoutthecenturieswehavemistakenlytakenpersonificationsforpersons,allegory

forhistory,thevehiclethatconveyedtheinstructionfortheinstruction,andthegrossfirst

sensefortheultimatesenseintended.

ThedifferencebetweentheformoftheBibleanditssubstanceisasgreatasthedifference

betweenagrainofcornandthelifegermwithinthatgrain.Asourassimilativeorgans

discriminatebetweenfoodthatcanbebuiltintooursystemandfoodthatmustbe

discarded,sodoourawakenedintuitivefacultiesdiscoverbeneathallegoryandparable,

thepsychologicallifegermoftheBibleand,feedingonthis,we,too,castofftheform

whichconveyedthemessage.

TheargumentagainstthehistoricityoftheBibleistoolengthyconsequently,itisnot

suitableforinclusioninthispracticalpsychologicalinterpretationofitsstories.Therefore,

IwillwastenotimeintryingtoconvinceyouthattheBibleisnotanhistoricalfact.

TonightIwilltakefourstoriesandshowyouwhattheancientstorytellersintendedthat

youandIshouldseeinthesestories.Theancientteachersattachedpsychologicaltruthsto

phallicandsolarallegories.Theydidnotknowasmuchofthephysicalstructureofmanas

domodernscientists,neitherdidtheyknowasmuchabouttheheavensasdoourmodern

astronomers.Butthelittletheydidknowtheyusedwiselyandtheybuiltphallicandsolar

framestowhichtheytiedthegreat

psychologicaltruthsthattheyhaddiscovered.

IntheOldTestamentyouwillfindmuchofthePhallicworship.Becauseitisnothelpful,I

amnotgoingtoemphasizeit.Ishallonlyshowyouhowtointerpretit.

BeforewecometothefirstofthepsychologicaldramasthatyouandImayuseina

practicalsense,letmestatethetwooutstandingnamesoftheBible:theoneyouandI

translateasGODorJEHOVAH,andtheonewecallhisson,whichwehaveasJESUS.

Theancientsspelledthesenamesbyusinglittlesymbols.Theancienttongue,calledthe

Hebraiclanguage,wasnotatonguethatyouexplodedwiththebreath.Itwasamystical

languageneverutteredbyman.Thosewhounderstoodit,understooditasmathematicians

understandsymbolsofhighermathematics.Itisnotsomethingpeopleusedtoconvey

thoughtasInowusetheEnglishlanguage.

TheysaidthatGod'snamewasspelled,JODHEVAUHE.Ishalltakethesesymbolsand

inournormal,downtoearthlanguage,explaintheminthismanner.

Thefirstletter,JODinthenameGODisahandoraseed,notjustahand,butthehandof

thedirector.Ifthereisoneorganofmanthatdiscriminatesandsetshimapartfromthe

entireworldofcreationitishishand.Whatwecallahandintheanthropoidapeisnota

hand.Itisusedonlyforthepurposeofconveyingfoodtothemouth,ortoswingfrom

branchtobranch.Man'shand

fashions,itmolds.Youcannotreallyexpressyourselfwithoutthehand.Thisisthe

builder'shand,thehandofthedirectoritdirects,andmolds,andbuildswithinyourworld.

TheancientstorytellerscalledthefirstletterJOD,thehand,ortheabsoluteseedoutof

whichthewholeofcreationwillcome.

Tothesecondletter,HE,theygavethesymbolofawindow.Awindowisaneyethe

windowistothehousewhattheeyeistothebody.

Thethirdletter,VAU,theycalledanail.Anailisusedforthepurposeofbindingthings

together.Theconjunction"and"intheHebraictongueissimplythethirdletter,orVAU.

IfIwanttosay'manandwoman',IputtheVAUinthemiddle,itbindsthemtogether.

Thefourthandlastletter,HE,isanotherwindoworeye.

Inthismodern,downtoearthlanguageofours,youcanforgeteyesandwindowsand

handsandlookatitinthismanner.Youareseatedherenow.Thisfirstletter,JOD,isyour

IAMness,yourawareness.Youareawareofbeingawarethatisthefirstletter.Outof

thisawarenessallstatesofawarenesscome.

Thesecondletter,HE,calledaneye,isyourimagination,yourabilitytoperceive.You

imagineorperceivesomethingwhichseemstobeotherthanSelf.Asthoughyouwere

lostinreverieandcontemplatedmentalstatesinadetachedmanner,makingthethinker

andhisthoughtsseparateentities.

Thethirdletter,VAU,isyourabilitytofeelyouarethatwhichyoudesiretobe.Asyou

feelyouareit,youbecomeawareofbeingit.Towalkasthoughyouwerewhatyouwant

tobeistotakeyourdesireoutoftheimaginaryworldandputtheVAUuponit.Youhave

completedthedramaofcreation.Iamawareofsomething.ThenIbecomeawareof

actuallybeingthatofwhichIwasaware.

ThefourthandlastletterinthenameofGodisanotherHE,anothereye,meaningthe

visibleobjectiveworldwhichconstantlybearswitnessofthatwhichIamconsciousof

being.Youdonothingabouttheobjectiveworlditalwaysmoldsitselfinharmonywith

thatwhichyouareconsciousofbeing

Youaretoldthisisthenamebywhichallthingsaremade,andwithoutitthereisnothing

madethatismade.Thenameissimplywhatyouhavenowasyouareseatedhere.You

areconsciousofbeing,aren'tyou?Certainlyyouare.Youarealsoconsciousofsomething

thatisotherthanyourself:theroom,thefurniture,thepeople.

Youmaybecomeselectivenow.Maybeyoudonotwanttobeotherthanwhatyouare,or

toownwhatyousee.Butyouhavethecapacitytofeelwhatitwouldbelikewereyou

nowotherthanwhatyouare.Asyouassumethatyouarethatwhichyouwanttobe,you

havecompletedthenameofGodortheJODHEVAUHE.Thefinalresult,the

objectificationofyourassumption,isnotyourconcern.ItwillcomeintoView

automaticallyasyouassumetheconsciousnessofbeingit.

NowletusturntotheSon'sname,forhegivestheSondominionovertheworld.Youare

thatSon,youarethegreatJoshua,orJesus,oftheBible.YouknowthenameJoshuaor

JehoshuawehaveAnglicizedasJesus.

TheSon'snameisalmostliketheFather'sname.ThefirstthreelettersoftheFather'sname

arethefirstthreelettersoftheSon'sname,JODHEVAU,thenyouaddaSHINandan

AYIN,makingtheSon'snameread,JODHEVAUSHINAYIN'.

Youhaveheardwhatthefirstthreeare:JODHEVAU.JODmeansthatyouareaware

HEmeansthatyouareawareofsomethingandVAUmeansthatyoubecameawareof

beingthatofwhichyouwereaware.Youhavedominionbecauseyouhavetheabilityto

conceiveandtobecomethatwhichyouconceive.Thatisthepowerofcreation.

ButwhyisaSHINputinthenameoftheSon?Becauseoftheinfinitemercyofour

Father.Mindyou,theFatherandtheSonareone.ButwhentheFatherbecomes

consciousofbeingmanheputswithintheconditioncalledmanthatwhichhedidnotgive

untohimself.HeputsaSHINforthispurposeaSHINissymbolizedasatooth.

Atoothisthatwhichconsumes,thatwhichdevours.Imusthavewithinmethepowerto

consumethatwhichInowdislike.I,inmyignorance,broughttobirthcertainthingsInow

dislikeandwouldliketoleavebehindme.Weretherenotwithinmetheflamesthatwould

consumeit,Iwouldbecondemnedforevertoliveinaworldofallmymistakes.Butthere

isaSHIN,orflame,withinthenameoftheSon,whichallowsthatSontobecome

detachedfromstatesHeformerlyexpressedwithintheworld.Manisincapableofseeing

otherthanthecontentsofhisownconsciousness.

IfInowbecomedetachedinconsciousnessfromthisroombyturningmyattentionaway

fromit,then,Iamnolongerconsciousofit.Thereissomethinginmethatdevoursit

withinme.ItcanonlylivewithinmyobjectiveworldifIkeepitalivewithinmy

consciousness.

ItistheSHIN,oratooth,intheSon'snamethatgiveshimabsolutedominion.Whycould

itnothavebeenintheFather'sname?Forthissimplereason:Nothingcanceasetobein

theFather.Eventheunlovelythingscannotceasetobe.IfIoncegiveitexpression,

foreverandeveritremainslockedwithinthedimensionallygreaterSelfwhichisthe

Father.ButIwouldnotliketokeep

alivewithinmyworldallofmymistakes.SoI,inmyinfinitemercygavetomyself,whenI

becameman,thepowertobecomedetachedfromthesethingsthatI,inmyignorance,

broughttobirthinmyworld..

Thesearethetwonameswhichgiveyoudominion.Youhavedominionif,asyouwalkthe

earth,youknowthatyourconsciousnessisGod,theoneandonlyreality.Youbecome

awareofsomethingyouwouldliketoexpressorpossess.Youhavetheabilitytofeelthat

youareandpossessthatwhichbutamomentbeforewasimaginary.Thefinalresult,the

embodyingofyourassumption,iscompletelyoutsideoftheofficesofathreedimensional

mind.Itcomestobirthinawaythatnomanknows.

Ifthesetwonamesareclearinyourmind'seye,youwillseethattheyareyoureternal

names.Asyousithere,youarethisJODHEVAUHEyouaretheJODHEVAUSHIN

AYIN.

ThestoriesoftheBibleconcernthemselvesexclusivelywiththepowerofimagination.

Theyarereallydramatizationsofthetechniqueofprayer,forprayeristhesecretof

changingthefuture.TheBiblerevealsthekeybywhichmanentersadimensionallylarger

worldforthepurposeofchangingtheconditionsofthelesserworldinwhichhelives.

Aprayergrantedimpliesthatsomethingisdoneinconsequenceoftheprayer,which

otherwisewouldnothavebeendone.Therefore,manisthespringofaction,thedirecting

mind,andtheonewhograntstheprayer.
