Claremont Partners owns the Nevele. “The Nevele would not be where it is today without Michael’s tireless efforts,” said David Runciman. “The details about the misdemeanor assault were disclosed publicly years ago and this has all the hallmarks of a smear campaign by one of the Nevele’s competitors. At the end of the day, we are confident that the merits of the proposal to transform the Nevele into a world-class casino resort are clear and compelling, and Kathi and the project team won’t be distracted from the important mission of rebuilding the region's economy.” “I don’t think it’s a coincidence that this painful, private, seven-year-old family matter is being resurrected now,” said Michael Treanor. “I have worked tirelessly for Ulster County and Wawarsing for several years, and helped the Nevele enjoy unparalleled public support. The matter and my character were completely vetted years ago by the New York State Grievance Committee and was brought to the attention of Nevada regulators with no resulting limitation on my ability to practice law or operate casinos. However, I choose not to allow this issue to be a distraction to the Nevele project and therefore have resigned as CEO of Nevele Investors.” Kathi Meci is a seasoned casino industry professional offering over three decades of accomplishment-laden experience at premier casino properties in the national and international gaming markets. The past 15 years of Kathi’s work have been focused on the functional planning and operation of casinos. Her work includes collaborating with design and construction teams, as well as gaming regulators. Her major projects include leadership roles for the pre- opening planning and development of Wynn Macau (VP Operations), Wynn Las Vegas, Parx Casino (United States), Okada Resort Manila Bay (Philippines) (General Manager), L’Arc (Macau) (CEO) and a variety of smaller projects. I would like to thank supporters for sticking by the Nevele and I encourage them to continue to express their support for our proposal.” Last week, Ulster County Executive Michael Hein, signed a unanimous resolution passed by the Ulster County Legislature supporting the application by the Nevele Resort, Casino and Spa. Nevele-R, LLC is proposing a $450 million investment to transform the now shuttered hotel into a casino, resort and spa. Anchoring the new Catskills resort region and only 90 minutes from New York City, the planned destination resort is expected to include a casino, hotel and a championship golf course, complimented by world-class dining, entertainment and recreational activities. The project includes plans to hire locally, purchase local goods and services, and work with the SUNY, BOCES and WIB systems for local project training.
