Example1. Calculate the volume of the cuboid below.

2. A bottle contains 1,500 cubic centimeters. The water is poured into a hollow cuboid with a length of 15 cm, a width of 12 cm, and a height of 8 cm. Find the volume of the water remaining in the bottle.

Solution:Volume of water remaining in the bottle = Water on the bottle - V

V = LWH = (15cm)(12cm)(8cm) = 1,440 cmVolume of water remaining in the bottle = 1,500 cm – 1,440 cm = 60 cm
